Description
Haha! Clever title! Notreallybut..'Nother one of my art projects. This was the freehand. Nothing is more fun to draw than bright eyes.
This one got quite a bit of attention in class. My teacher made me hold it up and show everyone. I hate doing that. DX
I haven't adjusted the scan or anything, but as always, the real thing looks a million times better.

Look at the comments already.
For some reason, I like it on here better than in real life. No offence. There is just something about it.
You, and your eyes.

No, the computer image does do something for it. I think its to do with the composition and the cropping.
But thanks.
Yes, me and my eyes.
Don't expect to see an end to them any time soon.

wow. this, to me, shows a good deal of dedication and patience to what you do, not only skill.
the symmetry of the eyes is impressive, though for you, since you mentioned you love drawing them, shouldn't be that hard by now, ne?
your attention to detail always facinates me, and who said there couldn't be blue around a wolf's eyes??
stupid humans. lolol.
And i agree, when teachers call unwanted attention to you, its quite awkward. ... sometimes it feels like the teachers are trying to CONVERT YOU to being their pet or something. ._.'
anyhow. amazing as is so often said.
xD

Thanks for keeping the picture at a HUGE resolution. This way I can see how you do strokes, shading, and highlights... details, too.
-takes down notes-
...Well anywho, this is very beautiful. I admit that I would've sworn that it was digital at first, but it turns out it's not. Hmhmhm. Nice work! As I mentioned before I just adore the detail you put into your traditional pieces- you've got the fur flow around the eyes, and every tiny little detail in those irises.
-claps-
Great work, dude. Keep it up. :)
Two questions, mmm?
1~ What did the class think of this? Were they all emo because they couldn't draw that well, or did they throw their non-artist-comments like "OMG UR TEH BEST ARTIST IN TEH WURLD!!"?
2~ How many pencils did this one take? I'm guessing eight as a minimum. xD

Ha, that was a mistake. I always seem to leave them huge. Making them small just saps all the detail out. DX
Well, thanks.
I'm surprised even how long it didn't take. Only a few hours. Maybe it didn't seem very long because I enjoyed it. Eyes are incredibly fun to draw.
Almost everyone that I showed asked why there was blue around the eyes. I simply replied "why can't there be?" Many people don't have the brain capacity to accept anything that isn't real. But the reason why I went ahead and drew the blue tribal markings is because it was fantasy-based enough already. I mean, come on. Wolves don't have bright green-blue eyes.
I got quite a few questions from this one. Some like "How long did it take you" or "How are you so good?"((I disagree. Not good.)), and even the "Is that all what you do? Draw?". Silly people.
Jeez...uh..probably over 10, actually. And I killed two of my grays. One of them is literally a centimeter long now, and the other is just a little longer.
I only used about 3 different colours in the fur, not including black. The eyes have a huge range, though.

Ah that's funny; I find eyes incredibly challenging to draw. But perhaps I'm not looking at them through your eyes (haha no phrase-pun intended), and I should for once just draw EYES. Hah. xD
"Is that all what you do? Draw?"
IDIOTS. I hate it when people say that. It's like they think we waste our lives on drawing, huh?
Stupid non-artists. T3T

Well, to me, if the eyes don't have life then the whole image is lacking in life. There's some silly saying or something that says that the eyes are the windows to the soul. I guess I really believe in that. That inspires me to make my eyes the most detailed and realistic part of the image.
God, I know. Someone asked me if I even had a life, and I completely ignored them.
Okay, I want you to tell me something. And be completely honest. I'm looking for some good constructive criticism and you're the one to come to.
The highlights in the eyes...do they look like highlights? I personally don't think so, but it may just because I spent too long staring at this piece. I didn't put any colour in them, they are just the natural colour of the paper. I want to improve on them, make them more believable and realistic and I think thats a huge factor.

Indeed, the eyes are the windows to our souls.
As for the highlights, I would say that they're done very well. Honestly far better than I could ever attempt.
After staring at them for quite some time I would recommend that you (though you can't really do this with traditional art- curse the lack of an Undo button) decrease the size of the shine. If you gaze at the picture with unfocused eyes it looks great, but if you look directly at the eyes then the shines to seem a tad overdone.
It isn't one of those highly-noticable or even unappealing things, though, so that's why I didn't mention it.

Mmm, actually I probably could go back in there and fix it.
I'm thinking about making a tutorial for how I draw and colour my eyes.
Okay, thanks. I'll keep that in mind for the future.

Wow. I love the way you shaded the eyes. Even though they're in coloured pencil, it is as realistic as if it was done in photoshop. Awesome, as usual.
