Description
This is a complete tutorial I *finally* finished that goes with the "Harmonica Twilight" picture. Lots of stuff on making rich colors with colored pencils! ^^Just as a warning, it's...very long. O_O
EDIT: In fact, it's so long that the file was too big to fit into one file! So therefore, I've completely split the tutorial into two different files. So this is just part one...it's not, I repeat, NOT the complete tutorial!
TO BE CONTINUED IN PART TWO!

I'm actually not sure what would be good really cheap colored pencils to get...you can try looking for Prima, which are pretty close to Prismacolors.

wait... can't you erase color pencils? Aren't they mixed with graphite now?
...and what do you think about Faber-Castell?
How many pencils should i buy, like in sets, if i'm just drawing for fun(and maybe homework)?

Depends on the kind of pencil, I'd imagine. I don't know if they're all mixed with graphite, but the more graphite in it, the harder the lead will be.
Faber-Castells are pretty good; they mix well with water.
If you're just drawing for fun and maybe homework, I'd say a set of 24 would be just fine.

You can buy them at nearly any art store, both online or offline. You can buy them individually, or in packs of 12, 24, 48, 164, etc. They are rather expensive, around $1.50 per individual pencil, although the box sets would end up being more economical money-wise. I have a pack of 48, but they're all mis-matched from other sets I've had in the past. You're probably best off going to your local art store and asking what would work best for you.

The 164 pack, do you think it will cost more than $15?

Usually a set costs a little more than how many pencils are in them well at least I think I have a 24 set and that cost about 25 or 26 I forget

I am very impressed. You have just taught me how to make some very bright colors with colored pencels. Most people would not beleave that this kind of coloring was possible with colored pencels.
Two questions:
How many diferent colors of pencels did you use for this picture?
Do you have any trouble with your hand smearing what you have drawn or do you hold your hand in such a way that it never tuches the page as you are drawing?

Hmmm...I'd have to go back and look, since I'm not entirely certain. Somewhere between 25-30, I think? I'd usually just pull out whatever was in the box that I needed.
I can't hold my hand that high over the page, but usually what I'll do is put a piece of scratch paper under my hand when I'm drawing so that my hand isn't touching the actual picture. That helps a bunch; even moreso on normal pencil.
