Clip Studio Paint got HUGE update, biggest ones being CAMERA and TWEEN options! Free trial here: LINK (official site)I no longer have any reasons to stay using Flash, so I'm now making effort to change programs haha. If you are planning buying it for animation, I recommend getting the EX version, PRO version have limits how many seconds you can make per project. It's well worth the money and there are huge discounts every now and then, that's when I got it

I've only combined my animations to a showcase and added music to it so my experience on this area is very limited, I've used HitFilm Express and it has worked nicely for that purpose

interesting! i've never heard of this one before. i myself use clip studio ex as well, my problem is its slow on my pc when it comes to quality and animation. guess i need a new pc lolol

Haha, yeah, when I bought Clip Studio Paint EX, I had very out of date pc so drawing and animation playback felt slow, I started using it when I got myself up to date pc, now it works real good. If playback feels laggy, you can export the animation as video file to preview it that way, sometimes I do that just to make sure all is good

I've used it: I cleaned and colored my Game Grumps Animated with Opentoonz, back then I didn't have good pc and it worked quite nicely, I think it's good, though there is steep learning curve. Luckily you can find good tutorials and there is small, but active community behind it, like discord group(s). There are good features, I think it's worth learning

i agree, i tried opentoonz and it was like learning flash from ground zero lol. im still addicted to flash but tvpaint seems so seamless and accurate. im going to have to get a new pc then. whats your pc rig looking like? im 550c pavilion 2016 12 gb radeon 570. still not good enough lolol

It was same here haha, though I had to finish it with other program, flash file got somewhat corrupted and started crashing, no way it could have handled colors haha. It was still very fun to learn new program. I've heard tvpaint is good, probably better for finishing animations. Flash is great for roughs, but finishing stuff, not so much, at least according to my own experience 
If you are getting yourself a new pc, if possible, build your own or have someone build it for you.

Had to ask these from the one who build and chose these parts for me haha, also asked what are important for animation and he told me this: "CPU is most important; 6 core is best value for money. GPU is important if you do 3D animation, though it doesn't need to be very pricey: Gtx 1050 / RX 570. Ram Affects how big files you are able to handle, but if you are doing short cuts, 8gb should be enough, 16gb might be too much. Install programs to SSD so that they work faster" I should mention that he's not animator so he had to look some things out, but he really knows his stuff when it comes to pc's

For smartphones there are couple free ones I've tried: FlipaClip (simple, but not that many options, more ads) and Animation Desk (more options, but more complex, less ads), I've only used these couple of times though.
For computers there is old version of Flash which Adobe offers for free: Flash MX LINK even if it's old, it's still very solid for 2D frame by frame animation, I used it half a year
