Thank you! There are 26 frames and I think I did this on twos/2s, basically 12fps

Woah, so many hands... @ m@

Gotta hand it to you, that's quite the feat. I applaud the effort, and the result have me grasping at straws on what to say!

Sorry, the pun monster inside me escaped for a moment xD

In all seriousness, amazing work!

Thank you! Need to work on those areas you are not so good at, what better way than animate it and try to make each frame as correct as you can haha

Haha, no need to apologize, I'm big fan of puns so thanks

woah amazing your anatomy skills are incredible
Do you use reference videos or do you animate this out of your head?!

Lzyboost In reply to Sesshomarul182 [2017-12-17 17:16:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a ton! Anatomy isn't quite right at some places, some pointed out fingers are too short which I totally agree. I used my hand as a reference/guide and to be more specific: I looked my hand, didn't use photos. I did draw key frames (front, side-view and back) from looking my hand, rest I tried to figure out by my own, I still needed to look my hand from time to time (thumb is really difficult to get right). It helps when you simplify hand to simple forms (example: fingers are like cylinders with nail side being flatter/smoother) and add details later, knowing somewhat how bones are under the skin helps too ^^ And if you are overall interested learning anatomy, I think one of the best books is "Anatomy for Sculptors".

Hm did you ever animate without looking at or having a reference?

Lzyboost In reply to Sesshomarul182 [2018-01-29 00:04:41 +0000 UTC]

This hand was probably most reference heavy animation I've done, at least for long time. I use reference when I try to study something, get stuck at something or have not animated something before. I've noticed that I need to look at reference less and less the more I animate.

Hm so it's like with drawing where over time you need less and less references

Yeah, pretty much ^^ In animation you also have animation principles you need to know (on top of anatomy and perspective), though those are easier to remember

Not problem at all~ Seeing your work is fantastic! I'm glad I'm saw it, cause seeing that Code Vein trailer put me in a bad mood.

This is the first time I heard about that game, but still, bummer if it's not the way you anticipated.

FantasyRebirth96 In reply to Lzyboost [2017-12-20 15:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Hey it's no problem really...I just want more of a hack n slash and not a game where you "bounded" to a bar telling you how many time you can hit.

Lzyboost In reply to FantasyRebirth96 [2017-12-20 21:47:14 +0000 UTC]

I've never played that kind of game before, or I don't remember I have. You might like Tales of Vesperia, it does have "fight screens" but you don't take turns or have limited time to beat up enemies. Of course it's good to look up some gameplay before buying haha

FantasyRebirth96 In reply to Lzyboost [2017-12-21 01:54:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah seeing gameplay like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehSFIn… just doesn't sit well with me. I hate how you need a stamina bar to not only dodge but to attack as well? That's so dumb and unfair. No no I don't care if I never played any Dark Souls game. Whatever. I wanna play loose, fluid hack n slash games, doing combos on the ground, in the air. Not like a dynasty Warriors games cause the enemies barely hit back. I mean the DMC games or Nier Automata or Bayonetta. That's the kind of games I wanna play. I wish Code Vein would be like that but no. People want a slow, boring, repetitive, limiting combat system. Wait...attack...wait...attack...wait...attack and win. Come on. *sigh* okay...okay I'm done. Sorry...I just needed to get it out there.

Oh, okay, now I fully understood what kind of gameplay you meant. I'm not fan of that type of gameplay myself, but I would not go and say it's bad or boring because I don't like it, it's just not for everybody ^^
