Description
I’ve been wanting to do a Symbiote styled Deadpool after reading Deadpool vs. Carnage but it took me a bit to pull together all the right pieces. Finally, I had everything I needed and this was the end result! Most people have used a typical, skinny body or a symbiote body for the figure, but I decided to go a different route by using a Blackheart body. Not only did I have an extra one sitting around, I thought the way the body looked was perfect for this style figure, namely with the body texture and its menacing profile.
The body itself didn’t get too much work done to it-I had already removed the tail prior to this, so all of the work here went into sculpting the Deadpool symbol as well as adding hot glue at various points to give it that symbiote style look. For the spikes on the shoulder, I just cut various spikes off fodder material and super glued them on.
After that, it was just a matter of repainting everything and sealing it. I enjoy the color scheme of having 4 different symbiotes-it’s so wild looking. I also tried to keep in mind that it is a symbiote, so I tried to give everything, including the DP logo, this kind of fluid, unsymmetrical look.
The head I used was a spare Carnage head that I got from 3mountains here on the Realm. MUCH thanks goes to him, I really appreciate being able to score such a perfect head. All the work there went too adding a little extra detail on the head, repainting it and putting it on.
The last thing I did was make a Lasher figure to go with him. In the comics, Lasher is bonded to a dog on Mercury Team and looks different in the actual comic. I based his appearance here on the cover of Deadpool vs. Carnage #4 where he is some crazy combination of symbiote fused with machine.
For him, I used a spare Quake figure, sculpted new eyes and the head circle, then repainted parts of the figure and sealed him. Not too hard, but a fun little addition to add to the set and comes with 4 points of movement at the legs.
