I wish the face wasn't as cartooney, but the scan was kinda rough so it was really hard to change the lineart. The original picture was smaller but looked weird so I made it into a wallpaper and..it looks worse. HA. whatev.So yeah she's doing what we've all done at one point or another, singing to herself whilst stripping the flowers of their petals, recanting the name of her beloved over and over and over and over...

Although I lvoe everything about TLM, I really wish the animation was a little more realistic like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. I mean they were still cartoons but there was something about the way they moved and acted that made you believe. Still, I think TLM had amazing animation- all the movement from being underwater made it so magical.

Snow white has a lot of boring parts lol and her voice is..an acquired taste haha but I love her design and the animation is fun with how old it looks.

i do love me some Ariel.
The only bit of critique i could give would maybe be, eliminate the lines in the hair. It would give it more of an art-nouveau feel to it, which is always good.
But its still pretty as is <3

I love her pose.. and well, just the whole way you've drawn her. I always thought disney drew her a bit off..
as for the whole picture, I think that instead of pink trailing down perhaps just the rock would be better, sine the pink draws the eye down the picture though nothing is there except the bottom of the pic. It would definitely keep Ariel as the focal point. (just my humble opinion) I love the picture, though.

I think you're right, especially when there's no background to keep you looking up. I'm hoping to re do this once I have the ability to actually finish pictures and finish them well lol
I really miss the animation of the classics like Snow White, Pinocchio, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. The animation was almost flawless, and the anatomy/flow of the characters..unbelievable! Actually, so believable it was crazy haha
I'eve always preferred more realistic animation opposed to more cartoony, though there have been great cartoony cartoons...

Thanks for the compliment on her hair, I've always loved Ariel's loooong hair and get annoyed when I see it animated as a big red pillow- she's in the ocean Disney! Make it flow!! (though the animation is actually really incredible^^ just thinking about how much work it must have taken to animate an entire movie underwater..yikes!)
