I wish the face wasn't as cartooney, but the scan was kinda rough so it was really hard to change the lineart. The original picture was smaller but looked weird so I made it into a wallpaper and..it looks worse. HA. whatev.So yeah she's doing what we've all done at one point or another, singing to herself whilst stripping the flowers of their petals, recanting the name of her beloved over and over and over and over...

i think what draws me to your ariel artwork is how different it is. I mean, you still have that cartoony look to it, but its more stylized and pretty, and i LOVE the way you do her hair and face. It gives her more depth

Thank you! I really like these colors, I've never liked Ariel with an evergreen tail. Her tail is actually blue-green, not green. Disney had to make an entirely new color paint for her animation (fittingly named 'Ariel'

If you get a chance, grab a copy of the Special Edition Little Mermaid, it has GREAT extra features with interviews and both past and present making-ofs. A worth-while buy for sure

I'm really, really digging the hair - I love flowy-underwater-hair.
The tail's pretty snazzy too! The best thing about this is the fact that you can tell automatically that it's Ariel, but you made it your own.

I hate it when I look for Disney fanart and all I see are exact replicates of the Princesses or the Heroes. I think people need to add their own personal flair to it.

Ariel's always got one arm raised, one lowered and her tail's always in the same position! Jeez.
Luckily, The Little Mermaid 3 will be their last direct-to-DVD. I honestly think they start need to make new classics to remember instead of making mediocre sequels. (I'm still gonna check out TLM 3 lol)
I've still to see Cinderella 2-3, Lion King 1 1/2, Lady and the Tramp 2, Fox and the Hound 2... the list goes on.

I'm sooo glad they're stopping these dumb DVDs though TLM3 looks GREAT!! obviously not a classic but a well deserved ending(even though it's about the begining lol) and looks like it'll fit in any TLM fan's collection. I sa a list of all Disney/Disney+Pixar productions scheduled thru 2012 and they have some good ones planned! One I'm especially interested in is a Disney+Pixar called the Bear and the Arrow or something like that..google it! Rapunzel sounds great but I really really REALLY can't wait until the Princess and the Frog comes out! Disney's returning to traditional 2D animation and has the same writers/directors from TLM, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and I think MAYBE Lion King. Actually I have no idea about Lion King lol.
Cinderella 3 was actually really cute^^ never saw 2 tho. Ariel voices the mom in Lady and the Tramp 2 but I haven't seen it in yeeears. Peter Pan 2 was cute but only medioker, still a good watch.

Yeah I've always liked that "butter milk" body build, a natural layer of cush to the body, it's totally natural. I've always liked the look of mermaids with wider hips, not sure why but maybe like you said about balancing the hair, thankfully it's not as big as many bouffants of the 80s^^
