Description Now that things have calmed down a bit, I thought I'd draw my favorite Transformer in his new toy's form.

Hope you like.

Despite what everyone says, I think Rodimus Prime is one of the best Primes out there.

Provided Star Saber doesn’t count, he’s always been my second favorite after Optimus.

Well, I've always been Pro-Rodimus, even back in the 80s.

It's a cool toy with a neat idea, but I was kinda hoping that the first Rodimus Prime toy we got in years would be Voyager-class. I'm gonna hold out hope that we may still get one some day now that the Rodimus door is back open.

But I kind of wish that the Titan Master toy was compatible with the trailer section for this guy. It might have taken some foresight into the engineering... But it would have been awesome. For right now though, I'm okay with a bulky Rodimus Prime for a change, but I am hoping for an IDW (or even Evergreen) inspired voyager down the line soon.

Honestly I think this figure looks like it was a rush job. You can still see the barely-covered robot fists sticking out of the front of the cab. I feel like they could have streamlined and refined it if they had spent a little bit more time on it.

Eh, that kinda sums up the entire PotP Line. Everything about it so far seems... Not as finished? Not bad, but could be better. In fact, that's pretty much the case with the last few lines too. in Combiner Wars and Titans Returns, the real kick ass gems of the line didn't really hit until midway to toward the end of the line. (Compare Scourge and Blurr to Twin Twist and Slugslinger.) I guess the best way I can say is... Compared to what they had to work with for the last several years, this is a big improvement and more of a step BACK on the right track. But we also know that they could do better too.

It's like the Authentics Starscream toy. (You know, the one that costs $6 at Family Dollar that fans seem to think will enable the Ruined Forever trope again?) For a $6, he is an exceptionally great toy, really reminding me a lot of the older Beast Wars Basic toys. He is totally worth the $6. But then you get to the others in that line... And Megatron is underwhelming, and Prime and 'Bee? They're literal wastes of plastic. Or that Cyber Battalion Shockwave toy, where he's nearly perfect... Except for the lack of knees. It's like... We KNOW they can do better and more so, we KNOW they can do better on these smaller budgetary restraints. But it's like... They get so close, and then fumble. Hell, the NuRiD toys. When they started, they were kinda... Well, kinda 'meh'. But toward the end of the series, they were producing some seriously kickass toys. And then I look at the upcoming Cyberverse toys, and I'm like... Didn't they learn from the previous line?

I do like the Rodimus Prime toy. I really do. And I'm not going to sit here and say "Nah, dude., It's the greatest!" It's not. It's... All right. It's okay for what it is, but it could have been better.

Did RiD15 improve? I was so turned off by the first wave that I completely stopped paying attention to it. Same with the series, it was dreadful.

It's kinda weird that these lines start over every time there's a reboot in the theme, you'd think it's the same people working on them as before. I can understand adjusting to a new gimmick, but PotP is literally just a combination of the gimmicks from the last two lines without providing anything really unique of its own.

At least the Dinobots had more love and attention to detail on them than I ever expected to see when Hasbro finally brought the Dinobots back. Come to think about it, maybe that's why the rest of their wave-mates have been so iffy, the Dinobots got all the attention and the rest were kind of an afterthought. I collect Jazzes, but I'm not gonna even pick up with that new one, it looks way too basic.

Yeah, RiD15 DID improve. Not the show... I liked it, but I know why you hated it, and I can’t say they improved those flaws any. But the toys? After... I’d say late-2016 they started to get their footing. The new Warrior Classes were solid toys. Some were kinda eccentric, but there were far fewer lemons than you’d expect. Windblade still is the best version of They character in toy form, Bisk was fun incarnate, Starscream (and Skywarp) were great Seekers and Blurr was literally one of the best toys put out last year. A lack of paint was their biggest flaws. (Seriously, Blurr was really good!)

Unfortunately, Cyberverse’s toys, while some look nice... They’re just not carrying that level of fun that the Late-NuRiD had.

Hmm. Well even if they are good, I have less and less interest in action figures these days, and my collecting habits feel more perfunctory and focus just on the neo-G1 stuff. These days I prefer to spend my money on costumes, because it's like being your own action figure, know what I mean? I think the only figures I've bought so far this year have been Overlord, Swoop and Slash.

I love the mold because it had been years sense we had a Rodimus Prime figure and I somehow found the Rodimus Unicornus repaint before I found the normal version of this mold.

Here's the thing... I like Rodimus Unicronus, but I can't really justify spending $45 on the same toy again, just with a Macho Man Randy Savage face instead. Discounted? Maybe.
