Commissioned by comes the old/new Question from the old DC Universe. Be it Vic Sage or Renee Montoya here, I really much prefer the Question to be a living breathing human being, with actual flaws, personality and style and not that magical wandering immortal that he is now. Now THERE'S something that won't stand the test of time! (No pun intended.)I tried out a new inking method with this one. Well, it's not really "new" just something I hadn't done in a long time and I like the results of it. It's something I'll have to see about doing more from here on out.

Actually, Rebirth is a continuation of the New 52, so you're not totally free of it.

actually its more of a reboot and not quite a continuation but it's apples and oranges.

It's a continuation for and of the New 52 Supergirl, the storylines of the New 52 Superman (albeit with the version of Superman from a different dimension taking over as Superman due to the heroic death of the New 52 Superman), and the New 52 Lois Lane (now Superwoman.) So no, the New 52 wasn't eliminated, but was used as the basis for Rebirth.

I'd heard that the new Question was the former Officer Montoya, someone I really liked back when. Haven't seen any of the new DC stuff outside of the DVDs.

Well, here's what's going on with the Question... *deep breath*
Back in 2006-07 there was a weekly series called 52, where the original Vic Sage took Renee Montoya under his wing, who had pretty much hit rock bottom. He dies from lung cancer (he always was a heavy smoker), and she takes over the mantle. It was pretty cool, as Montoya not only kicked a lot of ass as the Question, she didn't tolerate any crap from any heroes or heroines. (I think Batman might be the one exception.) With the new universe reboot, the Question is now some immortal being from the dawn of magic on Earth, who wanders around questioning everything. (No, really. Stop laughing.) We have no idea what the fate of Montoya is, or if she was ever the Question.
Like I said, I much prefer the Montoya version.

Meh ... I spoke to another artist and have bitched about my dislike for new DC. I won't get started on my list of why, but you hit on one exceptional point. They have ruined all my favorite characters!
