Metal MatBuilt as a decoy to stop Mat in his tracks. Although modelled after his namesake, Metal Mat does not appear to share his compassion.
I found myself looking at a lot of Sonic stuff recently, and since Robotnik created a metal version of Sonic, I pondered what a Metal Mat would look like (yeah I know, total dork
). Curious, I ended up drawing this for fun.I was inspired more by the Silver Sonic from Sonic 2 than Metal Sonic from Sonic CD (but still with his dark eyes), so you can imagine Mat visting Death Egg only to be greeting by this metal double.
Might edit this or whatever I feel like.

I was gonna make a Metal Sonic inspired version of a robot Mat, but it leaned more towards the Silver Sonic from Sonic 2. Maybe Mat and Metal Mat should race through Stardust Speedway xD

Although it was inspired by the Silver Sonic robot from Sonic 2, I did my own take for Metal Mat's design. It did encourage me to be structured, particularly with the folding hind legs and face.
