Description Halcyons are known for enjoying some of the most viciously penetrative weapons - capable of incapacitating modules, vehicles and soldiers. These PPC weapons however aren't without flaws - their sheer penetrative power leads them to doing virtually no area damage and only functionning as semi automatic weapons. Haltek PPC rifles are excellent for neutralising targets by incapacitating infantries or targetting and neutralising modules, parts and weapons. This, in turns, relegates the halcyons' main weapon choice as a specialised armament, which, coupled with the typical low amount of Halcyon troops, causes problems.

Sure, they can take out units effectively, but on a one on one basis and with difficulties. Often taking losses themselves. This lack of automatic fire and ability to engage multiple targets was solved by a simple modification upon their PPC technology which, instead of projecting an entire "sheet" of particles towards targets, would project "chunks" of it in pulses instead, simulating an automatic firing method, although that essentially made the weapon weaker and was still limited compared to other available weapons.

This is where the Haltek gatling particle projects come in. The weapon operates in multiple steps - when projecting particles down a barrel towards a hostile, it also loads the particle sheet two barrels back, and charges the particles of the previous barrel. This specialised, multiple loading process allows for much faster loading - and this is made even faster through a focussed, smaller sheet to load. The automatic, multi-mechanism system automatically dispatches it's containments upon firing, meaning the weapon cannot jam by itself (although sabotage or external action can jam it).

This model is built mainly with titanium, byocrystals and carbon nanomesh reinforced polymers through the use of Halcyon nanoforges which are essentially overglorified, superfancy 3D printers - the structure being "hollowed" in a specific configuration which makes material offer 80% of a full volume of material's resistance, 110% the elasticity and at 60% of the actual weight. The weapon has it's own independent nanotech supercapacitor banks for temporary powering, but is really meant to be powered externally through the user's gear power supply or localised generators.

The MKI (top) is a large, 5 barrel model meant for Halcyons in power armor. or in turrets. Weighting 112 Kgs, the weapon can achieve 300 particle projections/minute, although users will typically bring this down to 120 as to be more economic and fire for longer. The sheer penetrative force of this weapon allows it to mow down and cut through objects while having the exact same penetrative force as it's rifle and cannon brethern - although at a particular lower caliber. The MKI power armor infantry variant is often equiped with a frontal shield generator. The cumbersome size and weight of the weapon alongside it's heavy recoil means the power armored user will typically move slowly, facing hostiles, being a high damage tanky dealer. At 100 meters, the weapon (if anchored) has a spread average of 2.1 centimeters - making it relatively accurate. The weapon can fire for 42 seconds before overheating.

The MKII is a smaller, lighter variant at 42 Kgs, designed to be more portable, and has 3 barrels. The weapon can achieve 180 particle projections/minutes, but will typically be bough from 60 to 120. The barrels are shorter due to the "gap" between each accelerator gates being made shorter - this leading to the same per projection power as regular PPC weapons and it's larger brother at the cost of being significantly less accurate. While the larger brother boasts average 2.1 centimers of in spread, the MKII 21.7 centimers - only making it reliable at short range (10.85 cm of inaccuracy at 50 meters), not to mention the recoil, meaning the weapon will typically be fired at a lower RPM and/or in bursts, especially if the user isn't using power armor. The MKII is still a cheaper, faster to produce, easier to repair and maintain, lighter model. Increased dampener coils and an improved cooling system allows the gun to be fired for up to 30 seconds non-stop before overheating - overheating faster than it's larger brother due to heat being spread upon 3 barrels instead of 5.

The weapon, regardless of type, has a blue "burst" around the barrels when firing - but the particle streams themselves leave a dim burn through the air.

The gatling projectors have been a late production, and is finding it's way through most Halcyon clans, independent cells, settlements and places. It's not replacing regular, common particle projection rifles any time soon however - the gatlings are rather wasteful, inefficient and does not exactly allow for the capture of prisonners. Due to this, the Haltek Gatling PPs are usually only seen during wars where the Halcyons intend to annihilate instead of capture (such crusades are very rare), making this a really rare weapon to see. Odds are, outside of wartimes, you'll typically only find one of those gatlings per 2 Halcyon ships unless the troops are specifically armed to deal with a particular problem (e.g. : huge, nonsentient monsters ).

You're gonna have a very hard time getting one. And using one, considering you're a little turtle.

I'm not assuming you can't pick it up due to weight - your comic power prolly allows you to carry the weight.

It's more about it's actual size, pivot due to center of gravity relative to yours, the distance between where both hands would have to be, etcetera. You'd need one at your size

the official sound effect for these must be "PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW"

More like a loud, acute "pEWrpEWrpEWrpEWrpEWrpEWr"
