I have a question, for how long you have to bake the cookies and chocolate chip. Should it be baked in the oven? And at what temperature (in Celsius or Fahrenheit I dont mind)

I bake my fimo clay stuff in the oven for 30 minutes in 110 degrees celcius

really nice ^^ but shouldn't the 'chocolate chips' have been in the fridge? I just think that the chocolate clay would mix with the dough. And I figured I'd ask before wasting some fimo xD

IT LOOKS EDIBLE. I actually thought this tutorial would be on how to make real cookies, and I'm like 'now why would a simple ricipe get a DD?' so I was intrigued... turned out to be a lot more interesting than I thought!

Well, here's one - it's pretty simple, and (as long as you do it right) it tastes quite good... and the cookies are GIANT, this recipe makes about 15:
Ingerdients:
200g butter (cut into cubes)
1.25 cups of 'normal' sugar (not raw, castor etc. - plain white sugar)
2 tablespoons of golden syrup
2 tablespoons of full-cream milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
2.5 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1.5 cups chocolate buttons/chocolate chips.
Method:
1: Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (sorry, I don't speak Fahrenheit... however you spell it...)
2: Put the butter, sugar, golden syrup and milk into a small-ish saucepan - it's best to melt the butter first, but don't let it start bubbling. Take off the heat when everything is melted together, and leave it to cool so the buttons/chips don't melt into the mixture (not that I have made this mistake before... heh...)
3: Sift the flour and baking soda into a mixing bowl big enough to contain the whole mixture (don't pour the 'wet' ingredients in yet, though) and then add the chocolate chips/buttons.
4: Once you're sure the 'wet' ingredients are cool enough, pour the contents of the saucepan into the mixing bowl. Mix like your life depends on it. Don't leave any 'floury bits'...
5: Scoop out a handful of dough and flatten it (to about a finger's width) onto a greased (or covered with baking paper)oven-proof tray, repeat until you have no dough left. Leave enough room for the cookies to spread a bit - they will spread, and they do stick together and make one biiiiig cookie.........
6: Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until golden-brown. The cookies don't burn too easily, but they will...
7: Once they're out, leave them for about 5 minutes to cool, then put them on a rack to cool further or put them on a plate
I love cookies.

AWESOME!
I don't speak farenheit either lol
This is actually a really good recipe, I've searched for one before but always ended up with american recipes that was hard to convert into swedish ingredients and measurements. It's always the baking soda that confuses me, but one teaspoon sounds just about right for the kind of baking soda we have here!

Do-You-Remember-Me In reply to Madizzo [2010-12-20 23:23:51 +0000 UTC]
that's good. it's too complicated for me to understand
Ah, American recipes... they always end up FAIL after conversion. 3.25 eggs? I... don't think so.

Nifty, they look so real
What type of clay did you use? When I bake my polymer clay it becomes so hard I don't think I can cut it (to make the chips). Or do you not fully cook it, so it's still somewhat soft? Just curious, since I would like to try this!

Madizzo In reply to tira-chan [2010-12-16 08:02:02 +0000 UTC]
I use fimo clay, and I have never used any other brandof polymer clay, so I'm not sure how hard other types of polyclay gets after baking. I find it quite easy to cut my clay (fully baked) with a sharp razor blade though. Watch your fingers though, it's really easy to cut off a finger instead of the clay...lol

tira-chan In reply to Madizzo [2010-12-16 08:35:47 +0000 UTC]
Ahh okay, I usually use Sculpy clay, but I have some Fimo too. Not sure if you can mix them though...
And yes, I've cut myself with an Xacto knife before (which is just as sharp, maybe sharper than a razor!), and it cuts so fast and clean you don't even notice... til you see the blood x_x
thanks!!
