Description
Please do forgive me for some of the worst drawings of people I've made in a long, long time"Easy boy...easy now..."
Grim regarded the new arrivals, one eye carefully on the forest. He flicked an ear. There were plenty of thoughts going through his furry head. That in itself wasn't unusual. It was difficult to play tricks on people if you couldn't outsmart them, or, at least, outsmart them for long enough, say, a couple of seconds.
They are getting closer. The grass is tickling my tummy. The forest isn't looking at all scary any more. I'm bored. I would like not to be bored.
Suddenly he whirled around and dashed off through the underbrush.
"Whoah!"
"There he goes!"
"Well, grab him then."
"Grim! Get back here!" Courtney shouted. She would have liked to say something else, but at that moment Cat chose to swerve to avoid hitting a large tree that hadn't been there a moment before, and it was all she could do to avoid getting the wind knocked out of her.
The forest, which so far had done its utmost to appear frightening and intimidating; something it had achieved very well by orchestrating a selection of dreary trees, haunted mists, weird floating lights and a general feeling of that your really, really didn't want to be there, was now playing possum and was presenting its 'other' face to the small pack of creatures that were busy rushing through it.
"What the...?" Indre exclaimed as she rounded a small knoll and found herself riding through a shower of small petals. Like a rain of cherry blossoms, the pale white and pink drifted down from the tall trees up above.
These trees didn't look anything like what they'd seen so for. Mystic and evil energies didn't usually condone the growth of something that would have looked more at home in an elven retreat, but yet, here it was. A whole section of it. Everywhere she looked, nothing but large blossoms covering the branches intertwining themselves above them.
Indre frowned. There was something odd going on here... more odd than usual that was.
She wasn't the only one confused by the change of appeareances.
Mae stretched out a hand, some of the blossoms settling in her palm, as her horse chose that exact moment to take off into the air. It might have been better if she'd paid more attention to where they were going, for it looked like Cat had done the same. This time it wasn't a suddenly appearing tree that caused it, but the simple fact that he didn't want to run into the one that was already there, and that stopping was out of the question.
The space looked far too small to accomondate both horses at once.
Yet, somehow they didn't crash into eachother. Well, the horses didn't anyway. The riders might not have been quite so lucky.
"Eyes front."
"Aye, aye, I hear you!"
"He's getting away!"
"Grim...you come back here, you hear me!"
Yes, of course he heard. But he was having far too much fun to pay attention.
Of course, when you're lost in a haunted wood, you should always pay attention. Why? Because you were guaranteed that something was always paying attention to you.
Something furhter into the shadows blinked.

I totally missed this one!! This is hysterical and I love the wicked little pony giving everyone a hard time. Also enjoyed the "pretty fluffy elvish" forest suddenly manifesting!
Well done!

Maybe if we can get all the wicked creatures out of the forest, it'll revert to being simply enchanted rather than totally dangerous.

That would take years Imagine the amount of
lost... and no one knows why it got so 'hungry'...maybe there's something worse lurking deeper within...

True...those days even things you can draw with your eyes closed elude you.
