Well, it got accepted into Epilogue after some revisions, so I can finally call this done!This is a painting of my brother as a wizard's apprentice. The wizard has gone to bed for the night, but this little apprentice snuck into the workroom to get a closer look at the wizard's staff. Curiousity can be a good thing in some trades, unfortunately wizardry isn't one of those trades.

Might I compliment you on the staff's design? The story sounds like Disney's "Fantasia", where Mickey mouse borrows that wizzerd's hat and causes all sorts of mischief... I like that last sentence, though. Very forboding and creative.

It reminds me of a book I had as a child - Sir George and the Dragon. The style is very similar. Bravo. ^____^

I just finished reading a book called A Game of Thrones...this reminds me of it. I love the lighting in it, wonderful. Congrats on the DD too.

This is great! Had me getting story ideas as soon as I saw it -- well deserved DD, congratulations!
I especially like the details of costume, his Elizabethan pants and high boots contribute to that sense of period and privilege -- he does look very noble.

Finally! a version of the Sorcerer's Apprentice that DOESN'T include Mickey Mouse! (Not that Mickey Mouse is bad or anything, I just like the change) It's all about the look of wonder on the child's face here. Spectacular!

The lighting on this is amazing! His face could stand to be a bit more detailed, but, on the whole, I think it is fantastic. The lighting is what really makes the piece.
