Description Bendy groaned and opened his eyes. He was met with bright sunlight shining from the window on his left. He looked to his right and saw Boris and Alice staring at him worriedly. But in a second, Boris’s eyes lit up and hugged Bendy tightly.

“Bendy!” he said. “Little buddy! You’re okay!”

“Huh?” Bendy couldn’t process why Boris was so happy to see him. And he’s okay? What is he talking about? “I don’t get it...”

Boris instantly pulled away and looked at him. “You don’t remember?”

Bendy shook his head gently, still looking at them with confusion. “Boris, Alice. What’s going on?”

“Do you remember what happened, Bendy?” Alice asked.

“Uhh...”

The little cartoon demon started to process what he remembers. He remembered being tortured, rampaging through streets, screams of innocent people, and then... a girl... he couldn’t remember her face, but she did have a unicorn shirt.

“I was rampaging through the streets and everyone was running from me,” he said. “I think I attacked someone. I don’t remember much, but I think it’s a girl and she had a unicorn shirt. A purple shirt...”

Boris and Alice looked at him with panicked looks. Bendy’s confusion rose in a split second as he watched them stare at each other with such expression as if something happened.

Then, Alice sighed and looked at Bendy with a somber look.

“That girl you attacked,” Alice said. “That was Sophia.”

Bendy tensed like his ink got cold. That girl was Sophia? The girl with glasses and purple kind? There’s no way.

“You’re kidding me, right?” he asked.

Alice shook her head. “No. I’m not kidding. You attacked her, Bendy. And... she’s not in a very good state.”

“What do you mean?” Bendy asked.

“See for yourself,” Alice said and showed a picture of Sophia lying on the hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown instead of her usual pink and purple clothes. There was an oxygen mask over her nose and mouth and many cords were stuck to her. Bendy was now starting to shake as he stared at the picture.

“You left a very big mark on her, Bendy,” Alice said. “They had to stitch up her wounds and had to connect her to many of these cords. And I’m not a doctor, but I think she’s dying... slowly...”

“Take me to the hospital...”

The angel and wolf looked at Bendy questionably, seeing the toon demon’s head hanging low. Then Bendy looked at them, a pleading look in his eyes. “Take me there. To the hospital! I need to see her!”

Alice and Boris looked at each other for a moment before they made the final decision to bring Bendy to the hospital.

They were going to pay the poor girl a visit.
———
After going through a portal, they were finally in the Unknown World. They asked for a drive with one of the magical warrior teachers to the hospital and he insisted.

When they got to the hospital, Bendy was eager to go see Sophia. He and his friends went to the room where Sophia was resting, but the doctors didn’t allow them to go in, yet. They needed to wait.

But Bendy was very impatient. He walked around, fear and anxiety in his eyes, mumbling to himself. Dark thoughts swirled in his toon brain, creating a horrible storm in his mind that says that misfortunes will land on her.

They had to wait in an hour until they get the confirmation to go and see Sophia.

“When are they done?” Bendy asked.

“Soon,” Alice replied. “You just gotta be patient.”

One second after she said that last word, a doctor came to them.

“You may come and visit her,” she said.

“Thank you,” Alice said and stood up. She picked up Bendy, going to the room and Boris followed her to the room where Sophia rested. When they entered, Bendy gasped at the sight. It was true. They had to connect her to a lot of cords to keep her alive. His eyes went to the heart monitor. Her heartbeat seems to be at average, but at times, it wasn’t.

Bendy felt the need to cry at the scene. He quietly questioned why Sophia was there, but he remembered his rampage and his first and only victim. The victim had a purple shirt and a white unicorn. He swore he saw a pink skirt and purple shoes. There’s only one person who could wear clothing like that.

“No..,” Bendy’s voice was above a whisper.

Alice and Boris saw Bendy’s look of realization. Boris wanted to cry and Alice wanted to hug him close in case Bendy starts crying.

“Can you bring me down to her?”

Alice froze up at that question, but she didn’t stop to do Bendy’s request. She placed him on the right side of the bed.

Bendy stared at the sleeping girl that he made his victim. The girl that always loved purple and became a mix of a big/little sister figure to him. The Toon Petter and the Purple Princess. Sophia, the real-world girl.

Bendy felt his eyes water at the sight of Sophia lying there on the hospital bed. She looked so peaceful, but also, dead... He couldn’t help but hug the still form of the girl and silently cry against her neck.

While Bendy remained embracing Sophia, his friends couldn’t help but tear up at the sight. They wanted to do the same, but they’re worried it’ll make the doctors’ job harder, especially since Sophia’s on the brink of death. So they stood back and watched Bendy weep.

For minutes, they listened to Bendy quietly cry against the human girl. The moment was interrupted by a rumbling stomach.

“That was me,” Boris said. “I’ll go get some snacks. We’ll need it in case we’re staying here longer.”

“I’ll help,” Alice said. She looked at Bendy and he was still holding onto Sophia. “Wanna come, Bendy? We’ll get you some food to eat if you wanna stay.”

“No,” Bendy replied. “It’s fine. I’ll just stay here with Soph for a bit.”

Alice just exhaled softly with sympathy before going out of the room to the cafeteria.

After a long time has passed, Boris and Alice came by with snacks and drinks. After dropping them off on the chairs, they find Bendy cuddling next to Sophia, sleeping. Both being touched, Alice teared up and Boris placed his hands on his chest.

“Goodness,” Alice whispered. “That’s the most cutest scene I have ever seen.” She wiped a tear that instantly slipped out of her eye.

Boris nodded in agreement. He can tell he and Sophia have a very close bond. And seeing her in so much pain and being the one who left her in pain hurt Bendy hard. He couldn’t imagine the guilt Bendy must be feeling.

For the meantime, he decided to wait and eat his snacks as Bendy slept beside Sophia.
———
Apparently, the toons had to go home. Back at their house, Bendy just went straight to his room, leaving Alice and Boris staring at him with sympathy and empathy. The whole picture of Sophia lying in that bed traumatized him, leading him to act so strange.

After their visit, some of the other toons from other companies came by and wanted to greet Bendy. Mickey and his older brothers, Oswald and Julius the cat, came to give Bendy some words of condolences. Bimbo the dog did the same, Felix the cat gave him a gift that is a stuffed narwhal—Bendy didn’t want it at first, but he held it because it reminded him of Sophia’s love for narwhals—as a memento in case she... doesn’t make it. Bendy gladly took it in. The other toons just sent letters to comfort him.

Bendy felt happy, but couldn’t help but feel those feelings of comfort fading away. Because he hurt someone innocent to the point of death.
—————
It has been a week and no word of Sophia’s recovery was spoken to the toons. But Bendy refused to give up hope and kept hoping and praying that Sophia will survive.

One day, Bendy decided to go out and visit the Unknown World, at the docks, the spot where he attacked Sophia. His toon feet hit the blood-stained wood of the dock and as if it was cursed, he felt more negative emotions. Then, he reached almost to the edge of the dock, stopping there.

He wanted some time to get some things out of his head, but they cannot seem to get out. He rubbed his head like he had a headache. He wanted some time to get rid of these scary thoughts.

But he couldn’t stop those dark thoughts from coming to him.

What if she hates me? What if she... no! No! That’s not going to happen! She’s going to survive... I know it!

Thinking about the heart monitor showing a straight line in his mind brought tears to his eyes instantly, but he blinked them away quickly. He refuses to believe that Sophia will die from the wounds, but deep down, he knew it was going to happen. She was going to pass away peacefully. And once she does... He wouldn’t know what he could do. And it will be all his fault.

Bendy fell onto his knees on the dock and looked at himself in the reflection from the water. A few tears leaking out and falling onto the ocean. He was glad they were water, because if they were ink, it would’ve been bad. He remembered what Sophia said about it when she introduced her pod to him.

Flashback

“Bendy, if you’re gonna let your ink melt, then please do it away from the water.”

Sophia sounded so stern when she said that. It frightened Bendy a bit.

“Why?” he asked.

“Well, just like oil, ink has chemicals and it’s dangerous for the animals that live in the water. The chemicals are poison, so if any water animal touches it, they could get sick.”

“Oh, okay. Don’t worry, I won’t melt around the water.”

Sophia gave him a smile, a smile that is almost like it’s the sun in a clear summer sky itself. “Thank you, Bendy.”

“Anytime.”

Bendy sighed and wiped his eyes. He didn’t want Sophia to suffer like this. From what he remembered, he remembered a whale. Black and white, and big. It must have been one of her friends, Zale. He was one of the witnesses of his attack. And he could remember his taunting words at the cetacean.

Then, a loud sound of a blowhole broke him out of his thoughts. He looked up and saw a male orca swimming to him. Compared to Bendy, he was huge, a giant. But Bendy didn’t mind. He was told the male orcas are born to be big and orcas themselves are the largest species of the dolphin family.

As it got closer, he observed the orca’s markings. The saddle patch had a curl. Yep. It’s Zale alright.

Bendy wanted to reach out and stroke the killer whale’s nose, but he knew that the whale didn’t want to, since he witnessed Sophia’s fall. If he did, he’d probably end up bitten.

But even though it’s a risk to take, he took a deep breath. His pie-cut eyes rested towards the large cetacean.

“Hey, Zale,” he said.

The orca just remained at the same spot he floated on. Bendy can tell Zale didn’t want to go close to him after that night. The demon sighed and looked at the killer whale in the eye.

“You saw me hurt her, I know. But I just want you to know... I’m sorry...”

The orca didn’t move after Bendy said his apology. Bendy knew it’s going to take more than just an apology to gain the whale’s trust.

“I’m sorry that I hurt Sophia,” he said. “I’m sorry that I insulted you. I was just... so lost in my anger and fear that I couldn’t recognize anyone anymore. If I could go back in time and stop myself, then I could. But I can’t. I don’t expect you to forgive me, Zale. You have every right to be mad at me. But know that I’m sorry.”

Before Bendy could stand, he felt a gentle nudge to his side and saw the killer whale nuzzling him with his nose. Bendy was surprised, but he smiled and hugged his nose. His gloves soaked by the water that is on Zale, but he didn’t mind. And as he embraced the giant dolphin, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of comfort.

There was the sound of footsteps and Bendy turned his head to see Alexis, the blonde girl with hair tips dyed green, walking to the end of the dock. Bendy saw a much larger cetacean, and it looked like a dolphin, but the dorsal fin was short. The giant dolphin-like cetacean gently went up and rested its beak onto the dock. Alexis rubbed its snout.

“Is that a dolphin?” Bendy asked.

Alexis giggles. “I know it looks like a dolphin, but it’s not a dolphin. It’s a beaked whale!”

“A beaked whale?”

“Yep. This is the largest beaked whale. It’s the Baird’s beaked whale.”

Bendy sat with amazement as he held Zale and watched the giant beaked whale interact with its human friend, similarly to Sophia and her interaction with Zale. A any cetacean in her pod.

“How are you, Griso?” Alexis asked.

The Baird’s beaked whale released his sound.

“That’s good. Me... I feel sad right now...”

Bendy saw Alexis’s sad face and became worried. Alexis is one of Sophia’s close friends. Closest even. Seeing her sad gave him a bad feeling.

“It’s Sophia..,” she said, to Griso. “The doctors say she’s not going to make it.” Her voice began to go shaky. “She’s going to die...”

Bendy felt his body grow cold and he froze like he became an ice statue. He couldn’t believe it. Sophia’s going to die? No...

“You’re kidding, right?”

Alexis looked at Bendy with a sad look.

“She’s not going die, right?”

Alexis felt tears roll down her face. “She’s going to die. I visited the doctor yesterday and she said that the wounds were too big and too deep! They think she’ll die today.”

Bendy gasped and his eyes watered. He got up and started running to the hospital. As he ran, Alexis saw him running and became a wolf to catch up to him. When she did, she threw picked him up and just ran to the hospital.

When they reached their destination, they rushed through the entrance, the elevator, and got permission to see Sophia the moment they left it.

Alexis and Bendy rushed to the patient room of Sophia and were met with a heartbreaking scene. They saw the heart monitor showing Sophia’s heartbeat slowing down. Bendy placed his hands over his mouth and felt tears fill his eyes and leak out.

“No..,” he whispered.

Alexis felt her ears pin down in sorrow and felt her eyes flood. But she shut her eyes tight and looked away before she decided to walk away from the room. “Come on, Bendy.”

Bendy just stood there with the urge to cry. The news Sophia’s going to die and the heart monitor showing her heart slowing down. He couldn’t stand it. It was one of his worst fears at this moment and it’s coming true!

He began to cry like a little child. The moment Bendy released a loud cry, Alexis heard him and rushed to him, nuzzling him sweetly.

“Shhh, shh,” she said. “It’s okay.”

“No, it’s not okay!” Bendy sobbed. “She’s going to die and it’s my fault! It’s all my fault!”

Alexis just remained silent as he pushed him to a hug. Bendy hugged the blonde wolf and cried out his pain. As Bendy cried, Alexis whispered a prayer to God under her breath. She knew he’s got the power to heal Sophia, so she trusts Him now to heal the human girl. Before this day, she prayed every night and every day when she’s alone to heal Sophia.

Boris and Alice came by and saw the sad moment in front of them. Boris saw the heart monitor and felt his eyes well up. He ran out, leaving Alice alone, frozen as tears streamed down her face. She couldn’t believe it.

Sophia was going to pass away.

Alice covered her face and sobbed openly.

The toons didn’t care if they were causing drama. They were about to lose the girl who they view as their younger sister.

After a long time, Alexis told the toons to go home and prepare for the funeral. Bendy was held by Boris as he and Alice left the hospital, leaving Alexis with Sophia, crying silently as she whispered her final goodbyes.

That night, Bendy couldn’t help but cry as he knew he had to prepare for Sophia’s funeral. He locked himself up in his room and blamed himself endlessly as his sobs echoed in the house.

He prayed hard that night, hoping that all this was just a joke. But he knew it wasn’t. He left large gashes on her and she’s fading away.

Why didn’t I stop myself when I saw her? he asked himself. Now look what you’ve done, Bendy. You ripped the life of an innocent girl you love out of her!

He cried himself to sleep that night.

The next morning, Bendy woke up with sorrow in his eyes. Today was the day he is going to say goodbye to Sophia for one last time. He didn’t want to leave the bed as he tried to fight another round of tears, but he failed to stop it.

Boris went to his room and gave him a hug. Bendy had no hesitation hugging back as the two started crying silently.

Alice was outside the room, making breakfast for the wolf and demon. She didn’t have any motivation to make it creative, since the girl she considered her sister is probably dead today.

After placing the food on the table, she called the boys over to eat, but after she called, there was a phone call. Alice went and answered it.

“Hello?” Alice asked. “Alexis?”

She listened to what Alexis is saying. As she did, Boris and Bendy went to their spots to eat their breakfast. They ate slowly and sadly. But for Alice, as Alexis talked, her eyes widened a bit.

“What?” she asked. “Sophia’s alive?”

Boris and Bendy looked to Alice with their tired eyes. She began to raise her hand to her mouth.

“No way..,” she said.

“What’s goin’ on?” Boris asked.

“Sophia..,” Alice said with tears in her eyes. She was smiling, making the wolf and demon confused. “She’s okay! She... She’s alive!”

“How is she alive?” Bendy asked.

“I-I don’t know, but Alexis is telling me she’s alive,” Alice replied. “I spoke to Sophia a while ago.”

“What?” Bendy and Boris’s eyes widened.

“We’ll meet her after breakfast. Now eat up!”

Bendy and Boris began to stuff theirs mouths. They wanted to see her and find that it’s true she survived.

How can she survive so fast?

After they ate, they went to the hospital again and waited by the door on three chairs that were set by the room Sophia was resting in. While they sat, Bendy was deep into thinking. Was she really alive? Or was Alexis playing with them. Boris took notice and rubbed his friend’s back. Alice just told him to stay calm. She gave him a hug when Bendy tenses up at dark thoughts.

For two hours, they waited for the doctors’ words. They hoped they’re hardest to see Sophia and hoped what Alexis said is true. After that time has passed, the doctor allowed them to see Sophia, Bendy being the first to walk in. He looked up and it led his eyes to water. In front of him was Sophia.

She flicked her fist and said, “Woof...” Surprisingly, her wolf ears didn’t pop up from her head.

Bendy felt overwhelming joy rise and wanted to go and hug her. Boris went over and gave him a small stool to climb on and Bendy climbed on it with no hesitation to meet with Sophia’s healthy face. His left hand went to his mouth as tears streamed down his face.

“Sophia..,” he said, quietly.

“Hey, Bends,” Sophia said. “Happy to see me?”

Bendy climbed over the ledge and hugged Sophia instantly. Then he buried his face into her neck and sobbed.

“Sophia! You’re okay! Oh, golly! I was so scared! I thought I was gonna lose you forever!”

Sophia smiled and let him hug. She still feels weak after all that time being “asleep.” She couldn’t raise her arms yet, but it made her smile to see her favorite demon character healthy.

“How did you survive?” Bendy asked. “You... You were about to die.”

Sophia giggled. “Well,” she said, “be lucky Daddy answered.”

“Daddy?” Bendy asked.

“God answered your prayers,” Sophia said. “He used the doctors to save me. He knew how much you loved me, so he answered and saved my life.”

“Really?” Bendy asked.

Sophia nodded.

Bendy then hugged Sophia again, crying tears of joy. Boris hugged her on the other side, crying happily as well. He kept calling Sophia, “wolf pup,” endlessly, making Sophia bark like a pup.

Alice hugged Sophia on Bendy’s side and gave her kisses on her head and let the tears shower on the recovered girl.

“I was about to prepare for your funeral,” Alice said.

Sophia laughed softly. “Be happy I got more years to live.”

The toons just laughed at that as their faces soaked with tears of happiness.

“We are, sweetheart,” Bendy said and kissed Sophia’s forehead. “I couldn’t stop crying for a long while. I thought I was going to lose the one human girl I view as a sister to me.”

“I figured.”

“And I’m so sorry for hurting you, Soph. I was just so angry I didn’t... I didn’t mean—“

“Shh,” Sophia replied, “hush, darling. I know you’re sorry. And I forgive you. Even if you do it again.” And even if I died in this bed.

Bendy couldn’t help but smile and hugged Sophia again. “I’m so glad you’re alive. I love you, Soph.”

“Love ya, too.”

Bendy smiled even bigger and plants a kiss on her cheek. As he held Sophia, he had a thought in mind.

Thank you, God. For saving her life...
