Description This is a new character I'm working on for my drawing midterm named Roe'el.

She's a gold dragon of about oh, 1500 years, who is spending her time wandering feudal Japan in search of lost souls to save. She's taken on the guise of a young miko in order to seem more approachable to humans.

Why's she angry? The sketch I decided to color was one of her conversing with a particularly evil human after he murders a helpless samurai right in front of her.

Roe'el's lineage hails from a distinguished noble family in dragon society known for producing high priests, but Roe'el has mostly rejected her birthright and only saves humans in order to try and rekindle her lost faith in the dragon goddess she once served.

This pic is just a test to get feedback on my color choices and overall design of the character.

I chose to make her belt and hakama (not shown) a purplish blue color over the traditional red since she's not really a Shinto miko. I think the purple is more fitting since purple is both a color of divinity and royalty, which is more in line with Roe'el's background. I might make it a little more on the blue side in the final design.

I really wanted both her hair and eyes to have a metallic feel to them. I chose silver for the eye color since people with gray eyes have a reputation for having a very deep, soul searching stare. I wanted the hair to have a far more golden color than just blonde since I tend to make dragons have more saturated hair colors in human form than a normal human would.

Constructive feedback regarding the color scheme and character design would be highly appreciated...

Heyyy yah! : D!
I promised you critique, so, here it is!
[link]

And also a few things I hadn't mentioned within that: Soften the image as a whole by colouring the linearts a colour corresponding to that of the colour within. so instead of leaving a black outline on the hair, have it be a light brown, for example, etc etc :>

Hope you find pointers within the image helpful!

Peace : D!
