Description So... this dropped out of pre-production, actually just playing with the filters, not even the final render. I know it's not quite fitting in style overall (though it works in the context of the story), but I decided to give a damn and post it anyway. I'll throw the final render in afterwards, maybe a nice comparison.
It does work in only certain sizes depending on screen and distance, because of the impressionistic effect. And there's only one line of text to go with it, so that's easy.

"I ran with the wild horses."
Daz3D Iray render, some PS post work - Topaz filter.

It's actually reduced size (I've got the original in 4k), but this may still not be enough for printing. I can render it to larger size, certainly, but I can't tell if the filter will work with the larger resolution.

I can certainly try to go for a larger size. It's a bit of luck, sometimes more effort does not result in a better picture, that's one of the reasons, why I decided to post this, just in case.

yes i know this ! I did few pictures where  I like colours...and i don;t know how to do this again : ) After 100 experiments with layers and colours in Photoshop i don;t even remember how it was started so next work is again same big experiment However this picture you did - its really awesome. I made some my aircraft's renders : 40 x 30 cm ( in Cinema you can chose pixels or cm )  its circa 4700 px x 3700 and i printed it ....this seize let you really print huge picture,  however i printed them 50 x 40 cm ( cos i had such frame ) ...but one  i printed on paper in seize  something circa 150 x 100 just as test - and pictures was quite nice - i mean it was not big loose of quality.  So maybe original can be ok for printing -  4K its something 3800 x 2160 if i remember. However this picture is so cool that should be printed in bigger seize

Well, that would be cool. I did some work on the original render to prepare it for larger size (since for the test the textures and geometry were quite crude) so I can go up to 4800 x 1920 and I keep my fingers crossed that the filter will work. I'll put up those versions over the week, lets see how they turn out. If not, I can certainly still give you the 4k version.

The HQ version 4800 x 1920

is here:

If you wish, I can also try to do an upscale of the first version, though.

I'm really thrilled that you're gonna try it. I'd sure love to hear about the results.

I've hooked up my system to a decent size 4K tv screen lately (twice the diagonal size of my larger monitor), this already was very helpful.
It's much easier to check for errors and composition - I was pretty surprised at the difference.
But print is another matter still, since the color addition is by subtracting light instead of adding light as the monitor does. I only did small scale tests until now, thought they looked quite nice, too.

well, with printing, biggest problem is the resolution ...best result is when resolution is 300 pixels/inch or bigger ...I know that is DAZ you have no info about resolution - ( it was even in Poser ) so its a problem to find proper seize of picture.  Well I had to resize the picture and i hope it wont get "pixelation" effect.. cos still looks good, but it's can looks different printed...

Another big problem is frame .... I was trying even to search on ebay but its almost impossible to find frame for each seize. I had only frame 50 x 70 cm  so i will have to choose only part of picture .... this is always terrible part of printing preparation ..when you have to decide which part of picture must be lost ...Anti - frame  can let you for more freedom with printing however such  anti-frame is not looks good on wall ...its ok for some posters but not  for good art like this one

I've come across that when I set up some pictures for print with dA.... with 4800 you'd have 16*2.54= around 40 cm native size. But of course for a large size poster 150 dpi ought to be sufficient.

Rendering beyond that size really becomes a pain in the ass because the memory use and render time grows by square. And I probably have to get used to oversize pictures to have some crop border for different formats.

I have to admit that I never gave much thought to it, because I did not imagine someone actually trying to do a print  I hope it will work out!
