This is the high quality 4800x1920 painterly version of the render for comparison. It uses full blown and reworked maps on the horses and extensive post work.
There is probably at least 50-100 % more work in this version than in the previously posted one. The 1.000.000 $ question - is it worth the bother?

Ich finde dieses Bild wirklich schön! Es erinnert sehr an ein Ölgemäde, das in einem schönen Landhaus an der Wand hängen könnte! Die Frau in dem roten Kleid fällt sofort ins Auge und die Kameraperspektive ist auch großartig gewählt. Da die Pferde vom Betrachter weglaufen wirkt es sehr dynamisch....ein wirklich tolles Bild!

Ja, ich war überrascht, wie gut es bei diesem Bild mit dem Malfilter funktioniert hat. Es ist ja als Illustration einer Erinnerungssequenz entstanden, und Caastel war so begeistert, dass ich noch mal ne HQ Version aufgelegt hab. Er hat sich's an die Wand gehängt. Mehr Lob kann man kaum kriegen

My theory is that Rakan, while the woman from the steppes is dying, holding her arm, had some kind of spiritual connection with her and is (re)living, maybe due to the Magus presence, the life of the steppes woman.
Or maybe, I seek a too complicated story and your latest pictures are simply the steppes woman's life, without a mystical thing attached to it. Thing you might have done just because you wanted to explore more the character...

You're not far off... though it's even more complicated and sinister... the Harvesters have been named this on a false assumption (not by themselves but by Stone) but he could have hardly choosen a better one. Plans with plans within plans...

Now are you facing blur too? When using oil paint simulation, Deviantart blurs the image. Please note that a render without imitating a painting looks much more clearly.
In such cases, I do not make oil in places where I want to focus the attention of viewer, but I do it on the periphery of the picture so that background does not catch eye.
I hope the translator correctly conveyed the idea.

Yes, I thinkt I get that. I often do that in pictures that I concentrate saturation and sharpness on the focal points, too.

I can’t speak for rest, as I have noticed so far only with my drawings. Maybe it depends on the technique that the artist uses.
It seems that the formula looks like this: when using an airbrush or oil simulation, the blur effect will be multiplied by 2 on Deviantart due to compression. It took me a whole year to figure this out.

I assume most people only stare at stuff on tiny mobile screens anyway. But you got pretty fine patterns in your textures and those suffer a lot from those lousy compression algorithms.
