Description
A Crow I was given that I skinned, boraxed, salted and pinned to a dress form (covered in a trash bag) with some papertowels between the inside of the crow and the bag to help absorb moisture. Its going to be either part of a caplet of a cloak or part of a coat or shrug, either way there is a lot of beading, embroidery, chain and other stuff to come...but first it must dry.
Um... It looks like its giving the dress form a hug.
IS A CROW- a very LARGE crow, but still a crow, not a raven.
Crow was legally obtained.

[link] Crows are protected under the US Migratory Bird Act, just like it's cousin the raven.

only if you knick the skin wher the feather folicles are. Otherwise no, feathers stay in fine.

Salt and Borax pinned to cardboard and allowed to dry for about 2 weeks. Make sure its somewhere bugs cant get to it.

Crows and Ravens are beautiful birds even though many may not think so. I think your giving this birds essence a new life. Since you said its legally obtained im in full approval of this. Very well done. I look forward to seeing what comes of it. Wish I knew how to do this stuff but I have no place to actually do it if I did.

Another crazy awesome piece. Wasn't even aware someone could make something like this. Definitely looking forward to seeing what else you do with it.

That is one amazingly huge crow! This looks quite interesting though...there won't be any trouble from the crow's skin though when this is finished? Like...when it dries out, won't it become more stiff...ooooor would that not matter anyways?

Wouldnt matter, it will become stiff but the way its shaped, that wont affect much.

Oh wow, i totally wouldnt have guessed it was real unless you said something.
That said, i adore how the wings come over the shoulders.

Do you intend this to be more of a show piece(Such as photoshoot material) or something intensely wearable? I'll be interested to see how it lasts. It's a beautiful skin, the feathers are gorgeous and I like how nicely you've set the feather groups.

thanks! and only occassional wear like for really special occassions at larps or fantasy/weird related events or halloween. Im pretty sure I would utterly destroy this thing otherwise.
