A while ago I made one using t-shirt and sock material that was lying around using your tutorial~

I sewed it by hand because it was small and it's not perfect but I'm planning on making more because it was so fun ^^

You know, if you point the pins outward--so that the heads face in, towards the body of the star, and the pointy part sticks out--you can sew over them just fine
Also, this can be done with something like fleece or fun fur if you want a softer, more snuggly paopu.
On the whole, great tutorial!

Hahaha, well, that typically only happens if you sew over the head or are extremely unfortunate, but I've personally sewn over thousands of pins and can assure you neither me, my sewing machine, or my pins are horribly disfigured.
