Description
18"x22"Graphite pencils 3H/HB/2B/4B, Blending stump & brush, Kneadable eraser, Tombow elastomer eraser.
Strathmore 500 series bristol board (smooth plate finish)
This is my entry for The National Open Art Competition UK. Unfortunately it wasn't selected for the shortlist but I'm pleased with the piece as it personally represents a big leap in scale, detail and patience. It is roughly twice the size of my previous work and I learnt a lot working on this beast.

I love how you even managed to add a lens blur effect. The detail is outstandingly precise with well balanced values. Emotional and amazing artwork! Congrats on the very deserved DD!

Thank you Isabelle! I added the blur as if from a macro lens so that the background and foreground are out of focus and there's a small focused window on the face to intensify the image impact. Glad you liked it.
