This sculpey chess set took me all summer to make, but it was very rewarding to paint them all after they were all done and baked. It is based on Anne McCaffrey's Pern books of course. The set consists of:2 queen dragons
2 queen eggs (kings)
4 bronze dragons (bishops)
4 blue dragons (knights)
4 watch whers (rooks)
16 wherries (pawns)
I am still looking for a chess board.

this is amazing! i cant believe you made this! its just to awsome. i have to say great handywork and awsome craftmenship, i guess they are the same thing but still cheers! i've red the books and this is an awsome testament to Anne McCaffrey's Dragons. simply amazing work and im just blown away!

I hope you realize that that is absolutely amazing.
I love the thought that you clearly put into this. The idea of having Queen Eggs as Kings shows that you have definitely spent some time thinking about that.

*is in love* I hate playing chess, but I LOVE the pieces and these are -awesome- A -little- hard to tell the pieces apart, but definately beautiful anyway.

I love that you made the king an egg! It just fits so perfectly.
But the bronze dragons should be the rooks - supposedly according to the scoring of chess the rooks are the most valuable piece (other than the queen of course). Of course from an aesthetic perspective towers translate into watch-whers rather well! And I suppose the bronzes would hang out with the queen.

It took me all summer, but it was something I worked on slowly and steadily while I did other things at my computer.
