Description
I finished making my BLING!well, almost finished....(I need to touch up some of the paint on the ring that's connected with the chain, and then I'm probably going to glaze the whole thing)
anyways, it was lots of fun.....especially getting lost at the hardware store....>.<

pieces of hobby wood make up the sides, and the details such as the corners and eye are made from clay :3

This is so great! How long did it take you to make this? What did you use to create it? Is it maybe possible to split it apart like a real puzzle.

Malindachan In reply to KyOokami [2008-02-15 03:04:52 +0000 UTC]
nah, I didn't have the time or tools to make it a real puzzle.
It only took a day or two to actually make it. I just used wood and clay for the puzzle itself, and I got a chain from the hardware store and the ring on top is just a plastic ring I found at the hobby store.

I suggest not glazing it!
It's supposed to be an ancient artifact, no?
Leave it kind of worn-looking, it keeps the effect.

Malindachan In reply to MissShortie [2008-01-11 05:56:33 +0000 UTC]
actually, I already glazed it, but it's a very thin coat and it doesn't really look any different from before (I just wanted to protect the paint on some parts of it so it would be less likely to scratch off)

Malindachan In reply to Jyrotika [2008-01-11 04:22:31 +0000 UTC]
lol, the chain weighs a ton, but the puzzle itself isn't really heavy at all - it's mostly made of wood (the kind you can get in the models section of a hobby store), and the eye and corner thingies are made of clay. (and the ring on the top is plastic)

ManaDarkMagicianGirl In reply to Malindachan [2008-07-11 23:32:04 +0000 UTC]
The eye's made of CLAY O_O *in awe* I can't believe it! ANd the puzzle's wood!? SO good with precision if you made perfect pyramid!!! Just wondering where'd ya get the chain & is the ring that's connected to the chain made of clay too? OuO?? This is just AMAZINGLY super special awesome!!!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Malindachan In reply to ManaDarkMagicianGirl [2008-07-11 23:59:59 +0000 UTC]
well, it's not solid wood (it's hollow - I made each side from the wood you can get at hobby stores for models and stuff)
The ring was a plastic curtain ring and the chain was from a hardware store (sadly, I couldn't find a fake chain, so I had to go with the real thing....and it's very heavy) >__<
