Who will win this race? I bet everything that i havein Penelope because she's my favourite and I bet that the Compact pussycat can outrun the Mach 5 anytime Penelop wants! The race is on, and now we have to wait who wins it.

I think it would certainly be a fun race to watch. Both these racers are loaded to the brim with gadgets, gizmos, and gimmicks. It would be like a combination of NASCAR and Robot Wars, which sounds pretty awesome to me.

It's a spinoff from Wacky Races, in which she was one of the regular characters. They gave her a new premise for a show called The Perils of Penelope Pitstop, and the mood and aesthetic were based on a movie that was set in the late 1800s. It's a very fun and faced-paced show, and it has a complete series DVD collection now. It's definitely one I'd like to see revisited, not so much as some "cool" new action show, but rather as a completely off-the-wall series by someone like Frederator or Gainax.

Ah, crazy use of colours! I'm a total fan of eye-bleedingly bright and mixing unorthodox stuff together. For some reason, I love how you've colored his teeth, and the text at the bottom.

I read that Christina Ricci will play Trixi (hot!) and John Goodman will be Pops, so that alone is reason enough to have hope for it. I wonder if there'll be a monkey, or maybe CG monkey. I really don't know how they're gonna play this story, hopefully not like some kind of 2 Fast 2 Furious sort of thing. Racer X better kick all the ass too.

This is awesome. I've always been a huge speed racer "fan" (in the same sense that I'm a godzilla fan and 4kids one piece fan) and you did him a ton of justice while bringing a whole new level of character to the guy. He's freaking BROCK SAMSON CRAZY which is a major but hugely fitting approach to the depth of him, since he's always pretty calm driving around and nobody who drives that fast looks as calm as he does.
As for Penelope, I'm really not familiar with her at all...I know I've heard it before but that's not the point. The point is it's a great rendition regardless of knowledge about the character. Foxy!

I'm not very familiar with the newer Penelope they used a few years ago in that web flash animation, but I like the idea of updating the character. I love "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop," and would like to see an updated version of that as an animated series. Like most updated 'toons I'd like to see, I'd make Gainax do the animation for it, and make it as gonzo crazy as possible. The original show was pretty nutty already in terms of plot and action, so it wouldn't be a big stretch to make it FLCL crazy.

A fight between Pops and the Gang would be hilarious! Throw in Spridle and Chim-Chim and you've got something wonderful happening. And then there could be a side story where Racer X is investigating a terrorist plot by Dick Dastardly to detonate a bomb at a big racing event. Fun!

There have been a number of revisions already in the past fifteen or so years. I remember an American one from the early or mid nineties, and then more recently an anime version that I think showed on Nick. Let's hope your guys get it right where the others apparently didn't.

I know that when Cartoon Network was making music videos in nods to old classic Hanna Barbara cartoons, there was a Flash-based music video starring a more sexy, edgy Penelope Pitstop. God, I miss those videos.

I was reading last night about how Wildbrain, the studio behind those E-Surance commercials with the cartoon spy chick, made a Penelope Pitstop web cartoon for CN, among others. Maybe they made that one, I'm not sure. I'd like to see it though.

To be honest, it would probably be a fairer race between Penelope and Trixie. Speed would probably destroy her in a serious race, if we were going with the old-school version of Penelope.

before cartoon network redid their sytes to look like the crap they are now, there was a P. Pitstop flash that made here cool as hell (able to hold her oun up to Speedy). but now i can't find it anymore

I've tried finding that flash too, because I've never seen it but everyone says it kicked ass. I think it was done by the guys who make the E-Surance spy-girl commercials, so I'll bet it was awesome.
