IM HERE WITH MORE BULLSHIT HEADCANONS AND SEMI-PLAUSIBLE THEORIES!!!! these probably arent accurate but in the end i'll most likely branch them into a canon divergent verse. im also rlly happy with how these came out aaa?!?!?! now! all aboard the hc train, going clock-wise babey!!

>the rise of the radio demon. demons largely feed of negativity. 90% of the demons in hell are merely drug dealers, notorious criminals and murderers. most demons are malicious, yes, but mere malice doesnt give one a boost up the power scale, though there have been exceptions where a demon learned to utilize their powers. the amount of powers demons hold actually relies on the amount of hatred/despair/all 'round negativity they've felt in life, especially upon their last breath. the more hate one feels in their heart, even subconsciously, and if they harness the energy well, the more likely they are to become one of the 'tyrants' of hell. the story of the radio demon's origins is true to some extent--he did inflict some serious damage seemingly overnight! except for one thing: it wasn't really out of malicious intent, but more so in a blind rage.

yep...one of the underworld's most powerful entities pretty much threw the biggest maleficent-esque tantrum right on his first day.

if you've seen my prev post , you get the idea my alastor has been through a lot. the great depression, loss, discrimination, he only snapped when the last sliver of faith he had in humanity was utterly snuffed out. even then, he only targeted hate groups and all those he felt were irredeemable. yet all his efforts in purifying the world earned him a sweet spot in hell...something he did not take well. at all. first came devastation...then hatred. hatred for evil humans, hatred for god, hatred for this new otherworldly system, hate hate hate...his heart ached so much that it was unbearable even to himself, and all of that grew and grew until it manifested into something no demon has ever seen before. then it exploded into the series of wide-spread destruction and dethroning of century-old tyrants that earned him his reputation. the story may have grown more exaggerated since it was first told, but al never bothers correcting anybody- it's funny to see these demon cower before him; also! over the years he's gotten rather embarrassed of his not-so-little tantrum.

>rosie was one of al's first friends since his arrival in the underworld. he was rather dazed from the amount of power he let loose in one night, a woman not all too different than he was fascinated by this newcomer’s raw power and willingly took the disgruntled deer demon in for a while. she was patient and put up with the minor attitude al tossed her way. rosie found it more entertaining than anything, was this guy really an adult,much less the demon that wrecked absolute havoc earlier lmao?????

al eventually accepts rosie’s kindness, gradually opens up and they’ve become some sort of friends since? rosie is the one of the few people that know the exact truth behind the radio demon myth and the only person al goes to for emotional talks.

>MAGICAL BOY AL-- i'm just kidding. this is where alastor fully embraces his new role as the radio demon. if god deems him a ‘sinner,’ so be it. he’ll continue his work regardless, as the ‘righteous side of hell.’ along with a solid formation of his mic, here his old outfit literally burns away into the trademark tux we know all too well today.

al may have a ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions’ mindset, but beneath it all he is still a cynical man who believes charlie’s idea of redeeming sinners, no matter their crime, is as stupid as the next demon. he finds it cute, really, in many ways charlie reminds him of his old self. the idea that all sinners can be forgiven regardless of their crimes is simply adsurb! alastor’s role as the ‘antagonist’-rather than thwarting her plans for shits n giggles-is gradually showing his true colors and wants charlie to see things his way (aside from using the hotel as a leverage to his own goals to conquer heaven and rewrite the world according to his whim, but that is a hc for another time) as a way to ‘save’ her from all the hurt and frustration he experienced in life. in his eyes, it is better see things as they truly are than to get hurt by false hope!

on a brighter note, he does learn that turning to extremities doesn’t benefit anyone all the time. he manages a decent recovery the longer he stays at the hotel. he still won’t hesitate to end absolute monsters, but is more willing to give other demons a chance.

>i have no concept of what mangled mouths look like and i’m scared to look up references, so take this shitty thing with my apologies. it’s apparent that al can frown, but chooses not to 99.9% of the time. but here, the corners of his mouth are stitched into a perpetual smile so he,, literally cannot stop smiling. not that he minds of course! it takes a lot to shake him— even succeeding in doing so tends to result in a mangled something. that’s best case scenario. frowning is something al prefers to avoid at all times, even at his worst, can’t have people know he Feels™️! not to mention, it’s painful with all the strings and teeth that break with the attempt. a frowning alastor is a more nightmarish sight than a smiling al, even though he usually isn’t trying to be Big Scary in such a state.

TL;DR: alastor still is a pile of hot garbage but is more multifaceted than everyone perceived him to be- even, dare i say, ‘misunderstood’ for a lack of better term. his source of power is largely fueled by hatred from the suffering he experienced in life, and goes down a dark path for what he strongly believes is right. as the series’ supposed villain, he attempts to convince charlie to give up on her ways as ‘kindness will only result in tragedy’ however!! he begins to see the error of his ways the longer he resides at the hotel and makes an effort to better himself. still a pile of trash, but less.
