Description

So this was a "little" quickie I did during the ten minute breaks in my summer class. I figured it was about time to give a long overdue update to one of my other hero kaiju Silvia from waaaaay back manaista.deviantart.com/art/Si… .

The design could still use a lot more refinement, but I still like as nice practice concept. I also completely redid her powers and backstory, although the task of doing all this writing kind of burnt me out so I may need to do another update in the near future.

Of course any constructive feedback on how to improve would be greatly appreciated!!

AKA-The walking talking computer bug from space
Height: 68m (223.1ft)

Living Computer- due to rapidly spreading disease and famine through her species a few generations ago, her people drastically modified themselves into a race of organic like machines. This change did come with some benefits such as the ability to “telepathically” communicate with each other and most of their technology from extended distances, almost like a species wide Wi-Fi network.

Human Compatible!?- To the surprise of her and the humans, the wireless communications of her species can actually interact with human technology too. She learned that she can control certain human technological devices and even surf their internet with her mind. This gives her access to weapons no other kaiju on Earth has intentionally used before, social media. Humans love to post videos and place cameras all over the place. With a little more work, she can tap into the military signals as well. This gives Silvia instant information she can use to keep track of her friends and enemies in real time from any part of the planet.

Her upper arms come with built in energy blasters. Her blasters have three modes of fire:
Automatic- good for in flight combat.
Charge- good for a more powerful, more accurate shot.
Constant- produces energy swords for close combat.

Force field generator - She can produce a protective energy shields her body or other objects. The size of the shield and distance from her depends on how much energy she spends

Wide spectrum eyes-The eyes she is equipped with can see from all the way from ultraviolet, to visible light, to infrared, and down to x-ray waves lengths with over a 100 times the resolution of human eyes.

Moderate regeneration- She can heal herself fairly quickly, but it is still possible to receive permanent injuries. For some more significant but survivable injuries such as a losing a hand, she will to ingest inorganic or organic matter to aid with her healing.

Solar panel wings- Her people do not eat in the conventional sense anymore. They mainly get energy from the stars by absorbing it through their wings. They can also absorb electricity directly through their “tongues” if they have to. However as mentioned above, her people can still ingest some matter if they need to replenish the physical materials of their bodies

USB tongue- Even in their mostly wireless society, there are still tasks that require a direct plug in. Her tongue is composed of millions of micro cables that allow her to manually plug into any port of any size and shape. The tongue is highly flexible and can extend to 1.2 times her body length.

Survive in open space- Space travel for her people is much like ocean travel for humans. They can survive in open space without the aid of a spaceship or an external device, but the extreme distances and harshness of the environment severely limit the amount of time they can “swim.” Vehicles are still needed for any safe and practical traveling.

Energy consumption- When her “battery” (in her abdomen) runs low, she will experience symptoms very similar to fatigue. She can even collapse suddenly without enough energy. She mainly relies on the sun to recharge but that is often not fast enough. Sometimes she just has to steal electricity from the humans for a faster recharge.

Electrical interference- the down side to communicating with electronic devices is that it can go the other way too. Certain frequencies can cause anything from minor headaches to severe full body pains, even loss of control.

EMPs- Large electromagnetic pulses or extremely high doses or radiation can be lethal to her kind.

Very social- she will actively try and find ways to communicate with the residents of the planet
Loyal- true to her teachings at The Hive, she will gladly give her life for the greater good.
By the book (sometimes)- she is mainly a by the book type, however she dose understand that she will have to bend the rules if she wants to achieve the greater good.

Attitude towards humans- She tends to look down on them as underdeveloped, primitive, warmongering creatures that will get whatever they want no matter the price… but at the same time, similar to what her kind may have been like early in their development. Watching their rate of development, see sees that one day they may become valuable ally or great threat to both their civilizations. She will try to stay on their good side given that they may hold the very slim possibility of her getting back home.

Attitude of other kaiju- It varies with the individual, but overall she sees them similar to the humans… young, violent, and great potential to save or destroy life as they know it.

In a once unknown solar system hundreds of light years from the humble blue marble know as Earth laid another planet of similar nature with a thick rich atmosphere, grand mountains and oceans that covered the surface, and an uncountable number of flora and fauna that inhabited every square inch. This planet also housed a special type of species, one capable of thought, creation, and destruction. The original name of this species is unpronounceable to humans but the best translation by one of its own people (Silvia) to, “Sky Bugs.” The name of the home of the so called Sky Bugs also best translated into, “Blue Flower.” However these names would soon become inaccurate with the series of events that followed.

It was reported in remnants of the Sky Bugs’ history stored in Silvia’s memory that a meteor shower bombarded the planet for years. The planet and its inhabitants suffered little physical damage, but within a few years all life began to mysteriously wither away… as if the entire planet was poisoned. The following generations of these Sky Bugs exponentially decreased as more and more of their kind perished to this unknown disease, drastic food shortages, and the resulting political conflicts. Within fifty of their planet’s years, only 5% of the Sky Bug population and 15% of the planetary life remained.

With each passing year the Sky Bugs’ population became increasingly more desperate. They began resorting to drastic genetic and physical alterations to large portions of their people in an effort to outsmart the disease. Within a generation the resulting modifications spawned a new race of creatures best translated to the name Cybug. These Cybugs only carried some of the same anatomical features of their ancestors… many of their innards now a strange hybrid organic and electronic.

This evolution still proved futile as their home continued to wither. They eventually resorted to mass migration off the planet in a desperate effort to find a new home. One of the larger tribes of Cybugs managed to establish a space colony just behind the orbit of their once Blue Flower.

The Cybugs called this new home which appropriately translated to, “The Hive.” Life was difficult for the residents of this colony, but for the first time in decades things seemed to have stabilized. Three generations in the colony passed when the individual Cybug named Silvia came to be.

Silvia found herself living a modest life raised to be researcher in the Hive’s science program under the rule of a relatively new queen, not much older than her in age. They were close friends though out much of their childhood and well into adulthood when the then princess became queen. Silvia was more than happy to obey her new queen’s orders… and just as happy to offer her own advice. However their friendship only contributed to a building cultural tension of the colony. With the new queen and more new technology came many reforms. Just a generation ago, it was considered high treason to interact with anyone of their rival hives… now they were more than encouraged to intermingle and work together. The improvements communications technology also culturally split the hive two groups: those of the traditional route who wanted to pool all their knowledge and function as one single body and those who wanted to use the knowledge pool to each individual to function independently and spread apart to prevent another mass extinction. Much to the surprise of the hive, the queen willfully allowed this faction of her tribe to explore this new concept of “Free Thought.”

Ultimately silvia’s job in this changing hive was find the origins of the disease that nearly wiped out their species and/ or find a new worlds they can call home. After years of tireless searching and research…Silvia’s work finally paid off when she discovered another blue planet similar to theirs before the disease. The Queen authorized her to conduct and exhibition of the planet. However, fearing for the safety her childhood friend through this massive unknown, she ordered one of her best warriors to assist on the exploration. Terron, as his name translates, possessed a remarkable resume of resourcefulness and skilled space traveling as well as a fierce solider. Many in The Hive credited him with single handedly stopping a rival hive from invading their home on many occasions. He has even successfully managed defusing many tense situations that could have ended in disaster for both tribes. He was one of the regular few that actively went out and interacted with the other hives. Rumors circulated that many of the outsiders either feared him or try to form close bonds with him in order to earn his mercy in the ever possible event of war.

After months of preparation, they departed on their long mission to study the habitability of their potential new home. They first orbited closer to their sun to build up sufficient energy for the trip… when the ship was fully supplied they set their coordinates, then powered themselves down into hibernation like state, and then let the ship jump into warp speed.

Just over a year passed when their ship finally arrived in the new planet’s solar system. The planet looked more beautiful in person… nearly ¾ of the surface covered in shiny blue water, large splotches of green and yellow land covered the remainder, while swirls of white obscured anything in their path. However there were strange anomalies emitting from this planet. Their communication equipment, well out of range of their home world began buzzing with all sorts of beeping and bopping. Large patches of light could be seen on the dark side of the planet. What they originally thought was geologic activity viewed from their home turned out to be something much greater…. intelligent life.

Not at all discouraged by the possibility of making first contact with a new kind species, the two continued their mission. They landed on a moon of one of the largest gas giants in this system... observing the activity of the blue planet. Over months of study they were able to decipher the alien signals into a language they could understand. The source of these signals was actually an entire network not too different from their early Cybug signals. Every bit about the planet was broadcast though this network… the natives called this place Earth, the so called natives called themselves humans, the so called dominate species of the planet. Throughout their entire published history and culture was war… even at that very moment signs of fighting could be seen… many of the human’s most recent reports ranging from fear and anger of these strange creatures forming on their planet after a meteor shower.

Silvia became more and more fascinated with these new creatures, now wanting to get as close as their moon to better observe them. Terron had other plans…. A week into their orbit around the planet Earth, Terron quietly walked behind Silvia. Sensing something was off, Silvia turned around just at the moment Terron attempted to thrust an energy knife into her back. It slashed through part of her side, but she was still able to move… shocked she desperately tried dogging his next few swings.

Finally she summoned the composure to summon a person shield briefly stopping his next jab… then out of impulse… fired a beam of energy into his head. It did little damage to his war ready armor, however she able to catch a brief glimpse of a strange memory signals coming from his mind. Nearly having another knife jab directly through her arm, she managed grab his antenna and send another pulse of energy directly into his brain.

With his brain’s security temporarily scrambled, she managed to get a full view of the encrypted memory. It was mission, a secretly arranged a peace mission with one of the rival hives just before they left for Earth. He disclosed everything about their mission to Earth and the strong possibility of a new home for their tribe. As payment, he would be granted rightful leader of the new world. As additional payment, he would be declared ruler of his own tribe if he helped them stage a coup against his queen.

Terron’s signal reengaged. Enraged he slammed Silvia against the controls of their ship and then attempted blast her head off. Silvia struggled, but managed to push Terron back with another shield. They struggled in a brutal close quarters death match for several minutes before an alarm temporarily silenced their battle. The ship immediately felt as if was falling, violently shaking and bursting into flames. They try fighting again only to be interrupted by large explosion throwing both of them to opposite ends of the ship. Before they could recover the ship then exploded again this time disintegrating into hundreds of pieces high in the atmosphere.

The amount of heat was unbearable as both of their limp bodies flailed about with the flaming fragments of their vehicle. Slowly Terron’s body could be seen slowly floating in a different direction towards the ocean due to the explosion… however Silvia was far from safe as her body plummeted towards the Earth’s rocky surface.

Seconds seemed like hours as the ground finally approached. Her body skidded across the surface at back breaking speeds leaving a gapping trench in her wake. Entire mountains exploded as her body smashed through solid stone like it was flimsy dirt. Finally her body stopped tumbling.

Incredibly she managed to survive, although in a tremendous amount of pain and she could barely even move any part of her body… hours passed and she was still in her crater… she could see dozens of tiny little creatures in the corner of her eyes peering at her from the edge of the crater… just then two armored beasts the size of her appeared, ready to tear her apart at any moment. She tryied to skeap but couldn’t as the armored ones slowly approached her….
