Description
My apologies to the esteemed John Collier and his amazing 'Lady Godiva', the ultimate of naked riders on horseback.Found this on a backup drive. Thought for sure it was lost forever. Started this one way back in 2008, and come back to it now and then as my skill improved. But as I no longer have some the software used to create it, this is as far I can take it.
This is not what it seems. This is not a strict render, and does have some post work, mainly the saddle, reigns and hair. Everything else is rendered, but in layers. The background buildings wereΒ made of boleen primitives in Vue 6, with textures I found online. Took an immense amount of time to get the lighting and texturing right. For whatever reason the boleens wouldn't convert to Vue 9 when I upgraded back in 2009. As it is I rendered the background in Vue 6, imported into Poser 6 (and most recently Poser 2014) for the rest. I've since deleted the Vue scene that created the background by accident while trying to reclaim space on my hard drive. Since I no longer use Vue, I uninstalled those programs as well.
Amazed myself I got the horse blanket nearly perfect to the original.
The horse is (was) the best I could manage at the time. I think Hive Wire's horse would be a better fit, but its a model I don't have.
Maybe one day I'll come back to this.

Where did you get the horse blanket, if I may ask?

Poser primitive square used as dynamic cloth with texture made from images found on line. Took forever to get them to line up properly.

Great image
I love the saddle particularly, it's giving me ideas - roughly based on medieval saddles, right?

The saddle was a western saddle model I had on hand, and I used the morph brush to reshape it, trying to match the saddle used in the original painting:Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Godβ¦
