Description
Swept away, too far to swim back, too little ice.In our lifetimes, we will see the end of the great northern ice caps. What will become of such creatures? Only to be seen in zoos, never happy in their own habitat. Think about this the next time you start up your gas-guzzling vehicle to drive a short distance you could have easily walked, or rode a bike to instead. Emissions take hundreds of years to leave the atmosphere, so perhaps it's too late for some, but we may be able to save others.
As Christmas approaches, and still there is no snow to speak of in a country known for cold... this is what I think about. When I was a child, 15 years ago even, South Western Canada used to be blanketed in snow every Christmas. Now, I hear from friends in Texas that they have snow. Backwards? Yes. Weather phenomenon? Maybe. Human related? Almost definitely!
Thank you for your views, and your thoughts.
Above all, Happy Holidays!
Maybe give someone the gift of a WWF donation?
