Great artwork. The angle at which the picture is drawn is great and it lets us see the coelacanth clearly in the Irritator's jaws.

Thank you!
It resulted in a quite strange angle.... I cant say that it was my original idea...

The best thing about Irritator? Its name. I just find it funny. Plus, unless there's something I don't know about, it's the only dino (that I know) to have a Latin name the same as it's English name.

I agree with you! I love the name Irritator (Angaturama, its synonym, is also great). Also, the fact that is one of the few spinosaurs (not baryonychinae) with well preserved skull bones... Is one of my fav dinos...

Thank you!!
This is Irritator challengeri, a Brazilian Spinosaur. Is not the villian of Jurassic Park 3, but they are included in the same family (Spinosauridae) and (for some) subfamily (Spinosaurinae).
In fact, Spinosaurus skull is mostly restored using this animal (In the case of Irritator, only the skull is known, lacking the snout... well, another spinosaur, Angaturama limai, is only known by a snout, and they almost fit one with each other... and finally, they where found in the same locality!!)

awesome artwork and nicely detailed. i've always wanted someone to have a spino vs Baryonyx or any of the spion family, i think you might be the right person for the job.

hehehe... well... thank you very much!!!!!!!
Maybe an Irritator vs Spinosaurus should be more accurate spatial and temporaly... by the way, check Felipe A. Elias [link] artwork... he`s great, and he has a lot of spinosaurs!!!

Its beautiful! Irritator is an intriguing animal, especially how it was discovered! I can't believe there isn't enough authority over fossil selling and stuff in the world, I understand it was a salesman who's not learned in the importance of fossils, but...Well, he isn't named Irritator for nothing!

Well, first at all.... THANKS!!!
About the discovery of Irritator... I`m not sure... but the only think that I know is that, when it was discovered, it was restored with plaster, and in a bad way... when the serious study begun, it was irritiating because scientis found very difficult to differentiate bone from plaster.
And yes, different countries have different laws about fossil selling... and some are very ... er........ poor....

I thought it was like...the seller of the specimen, un buhonero in other words, like found two specimens and...beautified the fossil to make it more attractive, so...then like they said, they plastered it in a bad way, just remember the whole Archaeoraptor lianoningensis thing, so it was too hard to study since it was so...damaged in an unnatural way.
