I like the white background better. The other version is okay.

And sure enough, the white background is indeed less effective in my eyes than the photoshop variant. The ground line does look a bit less out of place here, but only a little, and otherwise I find the photoshopped background simply adds a layer of punch to the picture this version lacks. It's still a damned solid image, though.
