Yeah think its just a general thing where the darker the snake the more it shows in most species. Well apart from keeled scaled snakes Im not sure how it shows up on them as I dont keep any. Thanks

I did both shots with just a compact camera

very good pictures for a compact camera, I can't even get pictures that good with a SLR and marco lens lol

lol thanks, Yeah I was surprised by the standard of compacts now. Havent used one for alot of years and really happy with the quality.
