J: Hesitated.
Z: May I ask why you felt little red riding hood deserved to die?
J: Well, she was the only one that actually seemed dangerous at the time, sir.
Z: How'd you come to that conclusion?
J: Well, first I was going to pop the wolf, I mean the wolf's the obvious choice, right? Then I noticed the ears, see how they're laid back like that? And I realised, he's not threatening, he's scared! Then I saw little red riding hood. I'm thinking little girl, in the forest with giant wolf, middle of the night, air so cold it freezes your breath, right? Only her body language says, she's not scared at all! And only the wolf's breath is frozen, so apparently she's not breathing either. If you ask me, I'd say she's already dead. And to be honest, I'd appreciate it if you eased up off my back about it.

There is such beauty in this ....it catches my imagination. I am intrigued and love the beauty of the wolf.....the power of the relationship of these two......always had a different version of this red riding hood .....one where the wolf and the girl had a deep founded relationship in which they kept each other safe. This piece draws you into a story that you want told.....

I'm hoping that permission was granted appropriately, but I admit some doubt. There's a Facebook ad for an app/browser game called "Hero Wars" featuring this exact piece of art. If you gave permission, that's awesome and fine, but if not, it should get reported. I have a screenshot if needed.

Incredible! dark and frightening, yet it projects bravery as she faces the wolf. The contrast is dark and rainy which I love, and the face of the wolf makes me feel pure fear, while red riding hood is hidden because of the hood, making me feel her fear as well. A well deserved piece of work.

I... never watched a single picture for so many time... I really like it, a lot. I see it and i think, the little girl is so strong, she is facing the beast without being scared, without crying, knowing she can't escape. She can't avoid the end of her life. :c

It's a different take on the red riding hood story. A feminist or traditional event, depending on one's point of view. Her red cape symbolizes the onset of womanhood (literally, menses, blood), and the storm, sexuality that comes with it. The wolf is of course, man. The girl in the picture faces him head on, seemingly unafraid. Her childhood, the sodden cookies in the ineffectual basket, is dead. Her only defense is the very thing the wolf is after, her womanhood, her red cape, which is her armor, as well as the bait that alerts the wolf. But perhaps this girl/woman in the picture has weapons: the black box she carries on her back. It looks hard, angular, man made- logical? Her mind? Her intellect? Her experience? Her inner strength? Her character? Her cunning, resiliency, her persistence?
To me, her face appears, though mostly hidden, to be a skull. Perhaps I'm projecting. I'm not sure what this means. The wolf has his teeth bared, threatening. But also his ears are laid back. Is he a little frightened of her?
She is standing toe to toe with the beast. Is her head bowed in submission, her posture resigned? Or is she relaxed, staring down at his nose, curious? Is she brave, determined, Perhaps even relishing the thought of the storm, having known the calm for so long, and now sickened by it? It's up to the viewer to decide. The picture is frightening to some, exhilarating to others.

Fear faced Innocence, unmitigated and domineering. Innocence glared at the ground and felt Fear's hot breath on her face. Fear's influence roiled and blazed inside her as Innocence raised her gaze to meet Fear's eyes, which burned into her own. Innocence knew her end drew close. She closed her eyes to embrace the inevitable. Her chest grew tight and her jaw clenched. Searing pain shot around her body. She grimaced, recoiled and clasped at abrasions she felt on her skin. When what felt like an eternity had passed she opened her eyes. Her clothes had torn, her body was grown and she felt no pain as she readily accepted this change. What she saw when she looked down was most significant to her - the basket Innocence had been holding. The last bastion of her former self. Wisdom stood her full height and was joined from the smothering dark by Courage and Composure. They placed their hands on Wisdom's shoulders, who could now look down to Fear with respect, and Fear bowed.
