For the contest "Fantasy Landscapes" held by [link]This work took me exactly 48 hours (full weekend, yesterday from 7:30 pm to 5:30 am and today from 7:30 pm until now 1:05 am) ... and I am SO happy with it! (My 5th work, 61 layers and a lot of painting and learning of new things just out of pure luck!!).
Even if I start the fair tomorrow, I could manage to sleep less ... I absolutely had to send this piece to the contest!
A SECRET:
I could do it this "quickly" because I used several tubes, as you will see on the credits. They really spare time on isolating the stock pieces to be used. I want to specially thank for their incredible tutorial on how to create fantastic, first class tubes! You should read it [link] and try the method ... and join the club, of course
). There is a huge amount of FANTASTIC tubes that can be traded to help us work so much faster!Well, wish me luck for the contest. ...And if I don't win, I really don't mind... This is a work I am really proud of, honestly !!!

Hey Manwathiell, Im absolutely stunned by this exellent piece of your work. Congratulations, I really really love the colors and the lightning here. This blue and purple colormix looks just great, its better than I could do it. 
You even managed to fit the green tone of the grass perfectly. Im happy to see what you can do already, maybe the time has come for me to lern from you 
You do have so much for fantasy than me
And I love the whole scenery with the water and grassland in the background and the mirroring looks great. I knew it from the start, that you were really talented, just keep going on, I really look foward seeing your next work.
Maybe three little hints how you could even improve this one a bit, the mirrowing of the water lilieΒ΄s border and their blooms on the right side do look a bit strange, because they are kind of glowing. I know thats not easy because of their shape and only the borders are mirrowed because they are flat. Maybe the easiest way would be to just draw a darker line between the lillies and the glowing in at the right front side.
The other little thing ist the the missing shadow at the left hind leg of the dragon. just draw a darker schadow directly in front of the foot and a light shadow backwards to catch up to the tails shadow, and it will be fine.
And maybe the arch could be a bit sharper, because it has the same distance from the viewer as the dragon.
But, who cares, this is so much better, than many people around here could do it, congratulations once again, this ist absolutely great.
(And, Manwathiell, excuse me for beeing so less around here the last weeks, I met an incredibly lovely girl, but she lives 300 miles away, and I spend very much time with traveling, email and skyping theese days

important, very important part of my improvement and I was hoping
you would see this one
I certainly WISH I had improved as much as you suggest 
but no, my dear friend!!! I still can learn from you so much!
And your fantasty is absolutely amazing !!! I would never be able
to do the things that you do 
I am glad that you like this scene...and I have a couple of questions
about your suggestions/corrections:
You say that the mirrowing of the water lillie's border and blooms
look strange. You mean the reflection? They are NOT reflecting.
They are on the ground, as is the dragon, and they glow when they
are next to each other (glow escaping from their bottom somehow).
That is part of my fantasy! These are magical glowing plants
That is why you can see the glow better where the darker area is.
Does it make sense? They don't look weird to me, but it's because
I imagined them that way and they are just perfect glowing like that.
(But please, be patient with me and explain me again if I didn't
understand what you say, because I really want to be sure that I
am interpreting your toughts here).
I absolutely agree about the back part of the dragons foot, but I
dont get the reason for a shadow towards the front. The glow is coming
from the egg... 
About the arch, it is absolutely sharp on my photoshop screen. I understand
what you mean, but I have no clue on how to make it look better here.
I saved this as jpeg without even compressing the layers before doing so.
With all layers in place I saved them as jpeg.
Could that be it ?
And by the way, I do care!!! The small details are the cherry on the cake
and learning to find them is important to me to improve. I am always so
thankful to those that point at the things that can be done better.
Remember that any improvement you see is thanks to yours and some others'
comments and teachings that I could (hopefully) put together in this one.
But not being a "painter" myself, I need to train my eye to find these
details that can look better and you are helping me a lot here!!!

a lot!!!)

That elf-rock thingy is a candle!
I've had it at home for years and years... it is so beautiful that I never lit it and now I turned it into a tube in my stock account
And I thought it would fit perfect in this scene
I don't know if I will win the contest or not, but it wont throw a veil upon my happiness and pride for this scene at all
There are amazing works showing as entries and most are extremely skilled masterpieces. I have no clue if what I created is what is expected ... so many aspects could make that someone else wins (even manipulation mistakes that I haven't noticed). Anyway, I thank you for your wishes!!

A tube is a stock piece ready to use, already isolated from its background (with a white background). I am sure you would enjoy a lot joining Tube-Traders... there is lovely material there for manips!

It won't go away easily
I was curious to see the reactions on this work so I couldn't help taking a
peak... and I was so gladly surprised! I even got a critique from Gerrit!!!
And your words...they are such a treasure for my heart !
I guess my Irish ancestors show their blood in these works of mine and in my
love for magical landscapes
Dragons are incredible creatures (I love them and I have some small dragon
statues and dragon candles at home).
You just made me feel even prouder of this work than I was before submitting
it...and now I will have to $pend even more on bras !!!!
