Description I wanted to recreate the seen from James Cameron's Avatar that shoes the ship as it approaches Pandora (trailer here [link] ). Created in Cinema 4D R11.5 and composted in Photoshop CS3. The spaceship in the seen is actually a work in progress of the Event horizon spaceship (Image of the ship here [link] ). The ship is actually backwards in this image.

dude a did my own version of pandora in 3dsmax intending to recreate this scene as well, very nice man, yoiu should try to make or manipulated some other maps to acomplish a better quality on the gas planet

The gas giant looks a bit low quality, but even high-res Jupiter maps can look a little poor when such a small portion of such a large planet is visible, still - it totally looks like the real thing, I'm really impressed with Pandora itself

Yes I know, unfortunately that's the biggest map of Jupiter I can find. I was thinking of doing another one except this time doing a matte painting for the gas giant.

You could apply sharpen filter on the Jupiter map a bit

y'know, even though it might not actually be "fuzzy" if you had a view of it like this, it draws more attention to Pandora itself because that's clear. Well, for me at least... Aside from that, ditto to the other comments, lol. Great job!
