Description
Was messing around with Bill and Excalibur Productions Gorn mask prop.Modified the mask using PP2014s Sag morph tool, to pull the bottom of the mask neck into the
chest to hide the jagged edges then the push pull morph tool to make a nice neck line.
Parented theΒ Mask to the head with Inherited bend. Note had to go into joint editor to fix mask
so that all of the mask would bend with the head.
Also used Micheal 4 with creature morphs for the 3 fingers. Then followed Bill Redferns example
and created some foot figures using Creech figure.
Then dress him using Valiant for M4
Thanks for looking

Good to see you still pumping out the pics! I'm trying to get back into the swing of it, myself.. :>

Still suffering lack of motivation. Not to mention putting things back together after a fatal HD failure do to virus a couple months back.
Looking forward to seeing you back in business as well

I like this very much. The lighting is excellent as well as the costumes.

Thank you I had to tinker quite a bit to get the lighting right.

Mapper grants me too much credit.
XCalPro shared a mesh of a Gorn head he shaped in one of the virtual clay modelers. I think he just "tore" it from an otherwise seamless enevlope that formed an entire body (which would explain the "jagged" edge of the neck). I played with some Poser "magnets" to tweak the shape, making the jaw a tad more narrow and smooth the slope at the height of the nasal bridge. The polygon count was insanely high for what it was, so I "bumbled" within Hexagon until I got the "decimation" tool to reduce the poly-count to something a bit more "frugal". Then I just experimented with Poser node based procedural materials to depict the "leathery" skin and the iconic, faceted "bug" eyes. I asked XCalPro if I could share the prop through his site and he granted permission.
Sincerely,
Bill

Classy! Especially since MythBusters proved that Kirk would have been sooooooo toast

As they demonstrated, this is what should have happened (to let Kirk still win).
Assuming he got the "black powder" mixture right, he assembles and loads the "cannon" as presented in the aired episode. But, when he tries the light the fuse, the Gorn has gotten too close and Kirk is in danger of being mauled. Kirk abandons his cannon and flees. The Gorn realizes what the makeshift weapon is and hefts it upon his shoulder to aim at Kirk. Finally, the more likely scenario happens, the cannon explodes, severely wounding the Gorn. Kirk returns to "finish" the job, and, as before, he changes his mind and refuses to kill his opponent.
Basically, we'd have a "serious" variation upon a classic "Wile E. Coyote 'backfire'" gag. The Gorn is wounded as required in the narrative, but we adhere a bit more to real life physics.
Sincerely,
Bill
