Another P8 to PP 2012. Used flattened ball cone props to create Registry light emitters.Just playing around with a converted to poser ship, the Reimagined Constitution Class Starship

IIRC, by the time this view was possible the Enterprise was inside a "field of darkness" created by the so-called space amoeba, so the darkness is particularly appropriate. Apparently they're just about to launch the shuttle Spock flew into the creature. (At first I didn't notice the shuttle.)
You couldn't find an appropriate replacement for the space amoeba?

Agree with the lighting techniques used. Not only is it very cold in space, it's also very dark. So a fully lite spaceship would occur within a solar-system where the star would help illuminate one side of the ship. Further out in deep space it's freaking dark. So, Excellent composition.
