This is a pretty old tutorial, but for those who have Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10, with the newer versions of Paint, you can still get the classic version as a standalone executable!Β You can find it here .Β Can confirm that it works perfectly fine!

I love your tutorial, but I have the new MS paint, which doesn't have the Image button. Is there any other way I can access the dithering pattern?

Yep, the top left button (menu icon) and then choose settings or performance (I'm not sure how it's called in the english version); and then choose black&white

Dithering are the many dots which make the colors look smoother
