Well, as I see many people feeling afraid of our good old friend Fractal Explorer, I made this tutorial which is intended to be just an initiation for beginners. So the title (not fitting in the deviation title space) is "Finding". And finding in many ways, finding the program, finding the way through its basic buttons and menus, finding the world of FE and the final finding: our FE community.All critics, comments and feedback are of course more than welcome and I will be happy to answer each one of them, as usual.

How important and interesting is this tutorial. I did a few not too successful attempts in Ultra Fractal, and this seems quite similar but apparently much "user friendly"

Mario, thanks for a marvelous tutorial. I enjoyed playing with the basics of FE, but always got lost at your Step 14. I could never get the image to save as a .jpg. It always saved as .frs. I would really appreciate some help with this, and maybe I'll try again.

You can also get there by hitting Ctrl+w and choose between .jpg, .gif, .bmp or .png.

Click on "Save Image" not "Save As". It will save as a .jpg file

I know the controls, but not always what they do, so I go by trial and error.
I don't think I'll ever get very far with any fractal programme.
I'll have a go with this to see how I can use it. Thank you.
