EDIT #2: I have swapped the image out from the photo I took minutes before the original. It has a slightly better composition and DOF. Comments are welcome!EDIT: I wasnt 100% happy with saturation of the sky, as =Alex37 pointed out, it was a little over the top! I also cropped slightly to improve the composition.
My #1 FAVOURITE from this holiday! It seems a shame to put it up before all the rest but I want to do it chronologically!
I think this is the best photo I have taken! The title is kinda self explanatory... that sunset was just... POW! I was on a high for hours after these photos!
The sky was seriously nearly that bright! The polarizer helped with contrast but it was still the most spectacular sight!

A lot of people have asked me this! It is purely because the water there is crystal clear and the sand is golden. It just creates this vivid colour!

Yeah that was what someone else pointed out, I didnt chose my aperture correctly here! or focus point. Its a bit of a shame but it still looks cool!

You used a F/10. I'm not sure, but I guess that's what make the blur on foreground and background. I guess a F/14 or more would have given sharpness to the whole scene. Just like "Milky Sea". But maybe it was done on purpose?

It wasnt intentional, I may have used some wrong logic - I thought the exposure length gave you the DOF and I was using my filters so set the speed to 30s as I didnt have my remote release and adjusted the aperture to suit. It probably would have been better if I used an even longer exposure and a smaller aperture.
Perhaps you could correct me on my thoughts on DOF relating to exposure length... does it have to do with the way the light hits the sensor and is effected by the aperture ring?
I thought it was how long the sensor has to take the information in - i.e. a short shutter speed only gives the sensor time to get the focus point sharp... getting a short DOF.
Hope that makes sense even if its not right!

Yeah as far as I know the DOF is only affected by the aperture. Small aperture = small DOF. High aperture = High DOF. Better explained here: [link]

Ah well I misunderstood until now then! Thank you! I always thought the golden aperture was around f9-f11. Ill change my ways a little more when it comes to scenes like this then! Thanks man!
