These are illustrations I was hired to do for Nickelodeon Magazine years ago for an issue devoted to Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events. The idea was to begin the issue with a ridiculously cheerful "Candyland-style" illustration then end the magazine with the exact same scene presented as if it had been ravaged and rendered desolate by the dark spirit of Lemony Snicket.It was a lot of fun to do-- I really miss Nickelodeon Magazine and the wonderful assignments they sent my way from time to time.

cute, love the fact you have different styles, this is so innocent. much like my children's book, but different style all together. thanks for sharing this, I didn't read the mag, but of course I'm much older than you, this wasn't around when I was a kid. Fun.

Awwww. I used to love that magazine (Still love those books). Also I was watching a video you did a while back while drawing a manga Sandy. I was like, "I REMEMBER THAT PAGE!!! I DIDN'T KNOW MARK DID THAT!!!
