so i know a bunch of you have been waiting to see this coloured. well, here it is
i was able to get the Norse colouring god Espen to colour this picture. i enjoy the way it turned out.
i told Espen that he has what a call "juicy colours". i wish to learn how to color like this. maybe one day.
anyways, this is my take on the new look for the transformers that idw had created for their new ongoing comic.
the original designs were done by Don Figueroa, i just changed the faces on them. i still like the designs Don came up with, i just didn't want to draw the movie style face. been drawing movie style bots way too long now.
oh, i gotta say i really like hotrods new look. he's really freakin sweet.
anyways, hope you like it.

Like I said before I am not a fan of the cross polination style, but I like what you did with that, Espen too. There is one use I could use for the original style. I think that for movie Hot Rod, Don should use that style. it is perfect. I might just do that myself. good work to both of you.

I have liked seeing the progression from pencil, to ink to color. And the background is very nice and detailed also, not an afterthought.
So many artists show TFs in a cool pose...on a plain background. Adding in a city or mountains or some type of environment just makes it seem more complete.

I wasnt keen on the "TF's kiss human arse" storline again, i hate those plots,
but this just screams MEGA-EXPLOSIVE-TF-ACTION
"Decepticons role into town, a few gears short of a GearBox they start kicking the shit out of a Firestation for no obvious reason...
Lucky for those humans that HOTROD, Bumblebee and Wheeljack transform and blow them away, only to discover that the Firestation was really a brand new AutobotBaseFormer who turns into the new fetish based TF - Hosetron" haha i got a little nuts there
