Awesome shot. Did you use a polarizer for this one?

Thanks! Yeah i used a polarizer, on that day it was the strongest effect of all my pictures before and since. Bit of contrast and saturation. Thanks again for the kind comment.

Fuji S7000Z with polariser filter. I think it's a great camera for the money, good range of manual settings and the adaptor ring allows for filters etc. Although the fixed lens is a pain at times. Kind of itching to get a Nikon D70 DSLR!! *sigh* One day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you very much! Yeah i used a polarizer, copnditions and the angle of the sun were perfect for this shot. Add a bit of contrast and saturation and there you have it. This is one of my personal favourites. Just a shame i did't edit the full size file so if i want a decent print i'll have to re-do it. BIG lesson learnt there (well ok, about 3 months later)!!

i read some of your replies to your comments in terms of country vs. city life. i moved from Singapore to a small city in Germany in April. i really thought i'd miss the bustle and the vibrancy but i must say country life is for me 100%.
ok on to the shot:
the amber/warm yellow tones in the bottom portion is such a beautiful contrast with the dark, rich blue of the sky. i've seen a lot of these "waving wheat" photos but this for me is one of the best. did you soften just the sky? anyway. the movement and direction of the clouds really goes well with the direction and movement of the wheat....the slight breeze, i can almost feel it on my face. wonderfully summer this one!

Ah the country life discussion. It's the life for me!
Thanks for your very kind comments.
I used a polariser filter and also a program called Neat Image to clear up some of the noise in the sky (very handy program but does wipe out all EXIF data). Other than that i adjusted the saturation, contrast & levels etc with PS7.
I'm so glad you like it, it is a shot i'm most proud of myself (Being very new to 'art' photography).

Thanks.
It's right near where i work, i went over to this area in my lunch hour to get some shots of a windmill that you can see from the road, didn't get any of the windmill but came back with this!!
Yep, the city sucks, used to like it when i was out drinking in my earlier years but now i prefer the country.
