for some reason I imagine a aliens vs humans film and this would be the "ace in the hole" they bring out of mothballs to deliver a nuke fast enough without being shot down. XD
(like the film batleship, using ww2 non-electric dependant battleship to fight EMP using aliens) XD

There's just something about "big flying triangles" for me. Not just the B-70, but the Avro Arrow and Vulcan, the B-58, the Gloster Javelin, the F-102 and F-106...

I don't remember specifically but usualy I just use the Corel equivelent of an acrylic round brush or an oil brush when I paint.

I thought this was a fascinating airplane. Considering that the Air Force had the B-58 Hustler years before doing the Doomsday mission that it was designed for,it was really strange, trying to revive such a mission structure. Politics is a very strange game. Cold war tactics such as they were, gave the message to the U.S.S.R. ,that the U.S. can take it to another level. Even if the XB-70 had been built it would have been the B-2 bomber of the 70's,very expensive and never if ever used,if the situation arose.
It's place in World aviation history will always be as the pioneering step in supersonic flight. A beautiful piece of work.

i love this jet. But when it dorp its bombs from 70.000 feet at 2400 mph thay would never hit the mark it would miss it by 40 miles

I think they would take speed into account on a bombing run and release it accordingly. I also doubt they would be going that fast. Opening the bomb bay doors at that speed would have disasterous consequences.

Until I saw the remaining Valkyrie at the Air Force Museum, I just didn't appreciate how BIG this thing is! You've captured her grace and speed wonderfully here. The background is a wonderful contrast to her simple, clean lines. Bravo!

Albeit a flawed design, and nowhere as useful as a B1 or B2, but still an amazing craft.

A beautiful plane. Sad to see the project was cancelled. Flew so fast it ripped the paint off, loved that about it.

that Mach 3 bomber was impressive but sadly its crash with the F-104 decommissioned it...

Such a facinating project. I kinda miss the cold war in a way for all of the air craft it inspired.
Great work by the way

Beautifully done! The Val will always be the signature bird of the Air Force Museum to me. Too bad they moved her indoors, the place just doesn't look right without her presence out front.

The precursor to the Concorde. A better design mechanically, but not economically.

Great picture! Always an interesting plane. I remember when they moved it from Patterson Field to Wright Field, I believe they had to take about ten tons of equipment off so it would not damage a bridge that had to be crossed.

Empty weight is 210,000 lbs.! I can see why they took as much weight off as they could for the structural integrity of the bridge.
