Wow, this is amazing. I read the Siderwick Chronicles and this little guy reminds me exactly of how I pictured Thimbletack, and he's even close to the illustrations. Very awesome.
Might I ask what you used for the internal skeleton and support of the peice? Wire?

Yes, this was my design for Thimbletack. I was hired by Tippett Sudios, the special FX company that did the FX for the film. The director wasn't quite happy with what they had yet so I was asked to give it my interpretation.
They liked it and ran with it.

maaaaaaaaaaan, i FUCKING loved this movie! i thought it was gonna end up being just a kiddie film, but the creatures were just stunning! i really liked the whole production, Tippet rules, if only he hadnt make that S.T.2 thing...... you rule!
