What type of clay do you use? is there any specific type of sculpting material used to achieve a desired effect? or is it mostly just take something and sculpt it into something awesome?

This is super sculpey. I use oil base clay for larger pieces.
Some clays are better for detailing than others. But mostly it's lots of flying time and a good design sense to make something cool.

ah I see, sweet! are there any particular types of tools that you use, especially for the smoothened out effects that you create? or is it all just practice?

He looks brilliant! Lots of expression, too! Reminds me of something that the late, great Jim Henson would come up with! Sorry I got to comment on this long after the film was released, but I love seeing designs as well as final versions.

I've seen the movie, and I have to say that the only thing that I really liked was the amazing character design. He and the little one, Timbletack (NyΓΌsszentyΕ± is Hungarian) are lovely art work!

Outstanding work! It must be so frustrating having to sculpt a whole new maquette each time the director wants something changed, I get bored quickly enough just adjusting sketches! How long did you spend in total on this project?
