Okay, so the ancients didn't approach the pyramids by paved streets, this was my first real view of the pyramids - barely able to see them from the back of the van we were in on the roads approaching.I was prepared for this, but your image of the isolated pyramids is so un-true. The famous Giza pyramids are IN Cairo, and it's only through the right angles they appear isolated.

I'm glad I already had my camera in hand - that's the intrepid travel group I was with ahead of me. I saw the silhouettes and fell back for this one... wow...
It was an incredible trip. If I survive the cough/cold/some sort of crud I got from it, I'll look back happily ever after!

It took going to the doc. Turned out to just be a fairly run of the mill virus, but it took awhile to get over. All better now!

I love this one! The silhouetted people, the glaring sun, the pyramid off in the background. It's great because it's not normally how you see the pyramids. Pretty nice work there!

I'm so glad I got this one! I had camera in hand from the moment we got out of our taxis and those are the silhouettes of the group I was traveling with (an intrepid tour).
