Description
Graphite pencils and woodless graphite sticks on A4 smooth Bristol ..Quite a bit looser in style than usual, very minimal blending but i quite like how it came out and i don't say that too often.
This one is for the highly talented digital artist and DA friend and all round heart of gold who wanted to see me do Connery to go with my Daniel Craig .. i really liked this reference pic found from google images, can't find out who the shot belongs to though..
Updated Feb 2015 with a larger file.

Great job, as always!
I really dislike Sean Connery as a person but you've captured his likeness extremely well.

Amazing as always, I love the textures and the detailing. You always make everything so smooth but manage to keep the texture there too, I like that a lot

Thanks, you once said that you could spot one of mine in your inbox and know it was mine .. i spent a long time looking back on my work trying to identify what that quality was, i knew that it would give me a direction last year. If it's still here on this one then i'm pleased because i wasn't entirely sure myself. And i've been working hard this year trying to understand how to use darker grades and get them to harmonize with each other, my understanding of the softer darker pencils has improved for sure though so it was a priceless learning experience too

It's absolutely still there, no doubt about it. Give me a page of a thousand drawings and I guarantee I could spot yours no problem at all

Thanks Nick i appreciate that a lot. I was just saying to another that i see DA as a large art class where i am surrounded by the best teachers in the art world and if can better myself it's because of their quality. Can't wait to see you back in the zone this year mate

I could never have achieved the level I've reached without DA. I should be back drawing more seriously soon. I might have a go at Paula's coffee challenge as well.

Well done, Mark, I think the 'minimal' blending works better
