Description
Graphite pencils and woodless graphite sticks on A4 smooth Bristol ..Quite a bit looser in style than usual, very minimal blending but i quite like how it came out and i don't say that too often.
This one is for the highly talented digital artist and DA friend and all round heart of gold who wanted to see me do Connery to go with my Daniel Craig .. i really liked this reference pic found from google images, can't find out who the shot belongs to though..
Updated Feb 2015 with a larger file.

Fantastic work - if this piece tells me anything, it is that I have a very, very long way to go! The hair, skin tones and textures are mind blowing. How long this this take - for this level of detail I am guessing 20-30hours?

Thanks Paul, they average between 25 to 40hrs. If i get to 40hrs and i haven't finished it then i get bored and have to move on to something new. I constantly try to get faster .. more productive i suppose.

WoW 40 hours that is incredibly intensive, and demands an enormous amount of dedication and determination, which by the way shows enormously in the finished drawing. I currently only spend half that and wouldn't know what to do with the other 20 hours which is why my drawings do not compare with yours I guess
Great work as always.

omg mark this is crazy stuff!
i am not biased if i say this is your very best work ever and really mark, minimal blending suits you, it shows what a genius you are, to blend with cotton tips, many of us can do it and achieve decent results but to draw like this, so fine, so detailed, so realistic, now that takes a master
best sean ever, waw
and dedicating it to me, omg i am so honored and happy, waw
thank you mark, thank you sean
big big hug, omg i really have to paint something just for you
i have two months and tree paintings planned already but i need to paint you something my dearest friend, thanks again

It was my pleasure, sorry for the delay but my DA is very very uncooperative at best at the moment. You made a journal on my gallery way back and it was nice to finally show my appreciation for that wonderful gesture plus it was such a joy to draw
I'm glad you like it, that made my day Thanks for your kind words, as you know i disagree as always, still a student but i am surrounded by the best art teachers in the world and i learn from you all and if i do improve along the way then it's all down to the quality of those teachers who deserve all the credit

waw so gallant and so modest, the mark (lol) of a true master
it is my pleasure
next week i am done with the game, then i have free time till march, when i start another one
in the weeks of freedom i would so like to do 3 paintings, one for kevin which comes first, one for inna which comes second and should i still have some time, then it is really really high time i make something for you
we will speak of it, when the time is there but start dreaming already i will make something for you that would like to see, you name, i'll paint it for you (except violence and porn : rofl: just joking, i know you are not the kind lol)
and please, never ever apologies for the timing of the replies, we are all swamped here my friend, so the time of the reply for me is imaterial, it is the warm friendship that counts
many many thanks again
