Through defiance and sacrifice, humanity returned from the brink of extinction.

Against all odds, Earth survived the invasion, banishing the Confluence of extraterrestrials. The system Sol was saved, but only at the cost of a lost golden age.

Humankind had been enticed by the discovery of the System Link; had been promised a future among the stars by the wondrous messenger; had been united in its war against the Confluence. Yet now, it stands divided once more, torn by the questions of the invasion's legacy.
What of the remnants of the war on Earth, the artifacts and weapons left behind? What of the technologies beyond human understanding, mystical in their power? What of the strange strains of humanity devised by the Confluence's masters? What of the slaves and vassals turned against them?
What of the million abductees still unaccounted for? And what of the gods whose worship still remains?

The great powers of Earth all strive to reclaim the destiny of humankind, each with different answers to the questions that remain. But on one thing, they all agree:

Somewhere out there, deep in the web of interstellar System Links, the instigators of the invasion yet remain untouchable. One common enemy that will be vanquished once and for all. One common goal to united all of humankind once more. That goal, that war that is yet to come, are enshrined in the Mandate of Terra.

Sol is rising, a new morning star. The Mandate of Terra will be fulfilled!
