Description
I'm guessing it's ok to post this pin up piece up now, that's it's been accepted into the Shadowloo Showdown V Tribute Art Book. Some of you may know, that I'm a fairly big fan of fighting games, trust me just look at my gallery, lol. The opportunity came up for me to submit a pin up for this tribute art book, and I had to come up with an idea. Thus, I took my love for fighting games, and combined it with another love of mine, which is professional wrestling and decided to combine the two.
I decided to take 4 of the more iconic grappler/wrestling characters from Street Fighter ( Alex, Zangief ), King of Fighters ( Raiden ), and Tekken ( King ), and place them into a Fatal 4 Way Match to determine, which one of them was going to be crowned the World Heavyweight Champion of Shadowloo Showdown.
The hardest and funnest part about drawing this piece, was the fact that I need all of the characters facing a certain way, so that you could distinctly tell, who each of them were, and with some of them doing their special moves, which didn't make the other character they were performing it on, look too weak or obscured them too much.
The easiest one, was to have Alex performing his sleeper hold, on Raiden, meanwhile, trying to figure out what move for King, required me to go through King's extensive move list and try to find a move that he could do coming off of the top rope, which would create enough separation between him and Zangief, so you could see them both from head to toe. Luckily enough, I stumbled upon the fact that King can perform a high cross body attack, which worked out perfectly, and there you have it. Enjoy.

Awesome work dude. They need to do this again . I really do miss street fighter vs snk characters. I used to play the hell out of it on my Dreamcast.

Thanks, that's very nice of you to say. If you've ever watched a Fatal 4 Way Match in wrestling, that's how they always are, there's so much action going on in the ring, you need another pair of eyes just to keep up with it all, lol.....

I have seen a Fatal 4 Way before (I even drew a 35 page fatal four way) and I know it's no easy task to get all that action and detail in. !!!

Wow, that's pretty intense to choreograph and draw a 35 page fatal 4 way story. Very impressive indeed. I've only messed around with at most an 18 page no hold barred match, when I was working on my wrestling webcomic, SLAM. Much kudos to you.....

Awwww, thanks, SLAM was a labour of love on my part. Wanted to show people that complained that you couldn't make a wrestling match in a comic book format seem exciting or dramatic, and wrap it around an interesting/compelling story. It was a lot of fun to draw, and hopefully it helped show my love of professional wrestling to all the fans.....
